I really think the old datsuns 280z's are the perfect cars for a restomod. Yours looks gorgeous! But what it needs now is a really hot engine, gearbox and suspension. Nothing outrageous but maybe 350bhp? An old 3.2 bmw m3 engine would do it well.

Can you drop your parts list and links? I currently have a 260z and a 280z both are long ways from perfect but I really d olike some of your touches

Found one in my neighborhood body is mint except for a small dink on the side from getting hit by a car door. The thing hasn’t moved in at least 15 years the tires are deflated down to the rims the person is using it for storage right now so this summer when I have more time I am gonna offer for it

Dont know how bad under Neath was. But interior was also shot.. guy wanted $5k firm. Only good thing is he was the original owner and had all the paper work.

I'm shopping for a 240, 260 or 280Z right now & there's 3 or 4 on eBay (4/8/22) in the $3,000-$4,000 range. Project cars with damage & rust, but that's what I'm looking for.

Looks good your lucky you got a decent deal on the initial price of the car. My 55 Chevy was 10k it came with a bunch of parts but I need them no selling parts for me lol. Your paint cost sounds a little on the high side but then red is the most expensive and it depends on the quality of the paint you choose.

I just saw one for sale for $13000. It’s not a completed build, but they auto shop selling it has the seats, mirrors, etc so I can put it together. They said the engine was rebuilt and only has 5 miles. They also said the transmission is new, the suspension is new and it’s a race suspension. The doors need aligning and the front wheels need some spacers to be able to put the wheel hub locks on. Paint job looks good. And it’s seems to run well, they turned it on and revved it. Do you guys think this is a good buy? Is the price good? It’s a 1976 280z.
