Was just down there south of Playa Del Carmen and I caught several of the trigger fish-(the one that was spitting at you). They were fierce in shallow water- very small mouths with big teeth almost like human teeth lol.

they have some big teeth for sure! Glad you caught some they fight pretty hard for their size

@@WCT_Outdoors yea that’s Murphy park yak launch I e fished there my last 2-3 times and fished that shore line o er to about the 2-3rd dock w/o any luck, plenty of bait fish but just never had any luck there but met folks that fish there regularly, that’s the prob not being local, you just never establish good fishing spots going only 3-4 times a year ya know

Wait a minute? I saw captain Bloodknot behind the wheel? Who was guiding?
@WCT_Outdoors Жыл бұрын
Rich Stringer. He's a fishing guide in East Texas who took me out to fish Lake Fork
@deadbait5601 Жыл бұрын
Here's my take away. While Bloodknot "enjoys" catchin, he "loves" watching his son, or ANY compadre, hooking up and catchin. If you're looking for the TRUE DEFINITION of a sportsman, you need look no further than BloodKnot!

Do u need a fishing license in the bahamas or it doesn’t really matter?
@WCT_Outdoors Жыл бұрын
I think if you are fishing from shore you don't need one but if you are on a boat not owned by someone in the Bahamas you need a license.

What kinda rods are y’all using ?? I’ve caught 10 lbs catfish on my bass rods…. Maybe you fish it too hard? Makuna, is the most underrated brand ever. 10 years I’ve had it… caught EVERYTHING
@WCT_Outdoors Жыл бұрын
My dad was using his saltwater Waterloo rods. I use a variety of rods. My swimbait rod that broke was a Dobyns. It was a factory defect so they sent me a new one for free! I also high sticked the rod a bit so that caused it to break. I don't usually have a problem with rods breaking but I'll have to look into Makuna rods. Thanks for the comment!

do you find flyfishing with a pedal drive kayak to be very annoying and wish you had a standard kayak without pedal drive? asking because I'm looking to get myself a kayak for fly fishing ponds and rivers/creeks, trying to decide the best option.
@WCT_Outdoors2 жыл бұрын
The pedals can be annoying at times for fly fishing. BUT Hobie with their pedal drive kayaks has an insert included where you can take out your pedals and put in a piece that covers up the hole where the pedals would be.

I was a commercial fisherman out of Pemaquid for 10 years. Thats a schoolie striper. 30' waves hit those rocks in the fall and winter, great spot. By the red can, down from the point you can chum for baby mako sharks.

Nice day on the water! I am wondering if this was pre freeze tho? You were fishing corkys and wearing winter jackets...and catching big trout like before the big die off. Everything seemed like this was a while ago? Haven’t seen big trout caught like this in numbers since before the freeze. If this is recent, it’s surprising and exciting! Will be down in a few days to fish for a couple weeks. Stoked!
@WCT_Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
You are right this was before the freeze! This fishing trip was in December but I forgot about the footage and uploaded it late

I was really hoping you were going to say I was wrong 😂 I am sure plenty of trout have been and will continue to move in from the gulf...still, it won’t be like this video for a while...I don’t think! Would love to be wrong and can’t wait to find out for myself this week either way🍻 Probably means chasing redfish a lot more, and that won’t suck🍻

Can you give me some feedback on the Texas Power Paddle? I'm considering one, but can't seem to find anyone to talk to about it outside of the company. Do you like it? How is it holding up? It appears you use it mostly in fresh water. How do you think it will hold up in saltwater? Would you buy it again? I appreciate any honest feedback you can provide!
