This could be the end credits song to my teen years. I remember thinking Matthew Broderick's computer set up was so amazing. Now a cheap little Amazon Kindle does more than the machine in the film ever could (maybe even more than WOPR).

That this score is horribly underrated can be seen in the fact it has been out of print for so long. One can argue about just how high this score's place is in Rachel Portman's output, but that really misses a point: of her scores which evoke a magical world feeling, I believe this one is the best, the most original and varied and affecting.
