Thanks, very useful reminder for me that white balance is also creative choice. I’ve been getting a little obsessed recently about getting ‘correct’ white balance. Your three categories will help me with my future edits. I’ve been into photography for decades but recently got into wildlife photography- so I feel like a beginner again. The three categories are equally relevant for wildlife photography. Thanks.

MFT for daily use camera, good enough for hobbyist use cases (macro, urband landscape, etc). Medium format for the uttermost image quality (landscape), or shallow DoF portrait stuff. Skip APSC and FF. Sound like a good combo

Hey Michael, if you ever want to get together and shoot some night photography let me know. I'd love to take you to some of my favorite locations. Also wanted to say I know the struggle of gear frustration before/during an outing all too well. It's rough to get through, but most of the time I try and sit still for a minute or two and think of what to do next. Night photography is challenging at times, but I love trying to capture a world that most people never stop to look at.

@@MSladekPhoto I’ve got nearly every Fuji lens from old to new and it all depends where I’m doing some street photography and usually if it’s a packed out busy streets then I’ll use my xf18mm f2 on my xe3 and a Fuji xt50 with the xf27mm on it as a 2 body combo otherwise I have 2 Fuji xh2 cameras which I’ll mount mostly my xf18mm on one body and the xf33mm onto the other body as a light weight setup but sometimes I’ll use my Fuji zoom lenses also the red badge zooms on my xh2 bodies and I also have a Fuji gfx 50 r with the gf45mm on it as my Fuji x100v alternative and I love using it too and I’m also thinking of buying the Nikon zf as an additional body as I’ve just sold my xt5 recently

Very enjoyable video and really nice images in spite of your self criticism, and I’m not just blowing smoke up your skirt (actually I don’t know if you wear skirts), but the fact is that you are a very good photographer Michael. Frustration with lenses I understand, I have tried lenses made for Fuji from Viltrox, TTArtisan, etc. and always find an issue and had to return them, the only exception is the Laowa 65mm macro, so I’m sticking with Fuji native lenses for everything else, I can’t accept bad or out of focus iguana photographs😂

Hello friend, these shots are incredible. Can I ask if these are SOOC JPGs or edited RAWs? I'd assume RAWs. Also, I am personally trying to decide if I prefer 23mm or 35mm on fuji (35 and 50mm equivalents) for street photography. What is your opinion on this?

Hello! These photos are RAW, edited in Lightroom Classic that starts with Classic Chrome emulation and then my edits to taste. Regarding choice between 23 and 35mm, that’s very much a personal preference! In part, I think it depends if you prefer slightly wider with more context (23mm) or slightly closer to the subject (35mm). Best wishes!

I'm very new to a physical camera, at least the modern kind. Hi! This camera is marketed very specifically at people who want more from a camera than phones can deliver. All modern digital cameras offer amazing image quality and performance. My suggestion is to see if there is a physical camera store near you to go look at and hold the camera. How the camera feels is very important to enjoying using it. Please let me know if you have other questions!

Best video to-date! 😀 I’m curious as to the choice of primes with the widest being the 33 in a crowded place like Pike’s. It’s validating the technique I’m privately starting to call Standoff Street as there seems to be no compromise in the telling of stories. How is parking? I’ve not been there for 30 years and it was challenging and pricey then. Aside: In 2019, I photographed a fashion show not unlike the second photo in the video. There were barriers everywhere and I had only a narrow slot to work with. At the time, doing that was unheard of and despite my concerns, was very well received.
