Thank you a lot, but I try as you say but do NOT have the "HOLE" you have on the parts of the shoulder pieces, I only use CLo3D for about 1 month, so if you have time and power I would be very appreciated, if you can show on a video or find one, I search but not find one who explains in a good way, and slow to follow ... /// McRoman ... Anyway THX for replay back to me... " Who Says's LIFE is Easy ! ;) " Also, any chance to buy this T-Shirt you do above - IF it is not too expensive ... - only humble asking for learning... Also, how do you put this shoulder part on the T-Shirt ...

Ahh I see. I didn't realize you were asking specifically about the texture. You need a repeatable image to create a texture. I'd be happy to share it with you for free, just email me at [email protected] and I'll send you the fabric file. If you want to purchase the t-shirt it's available here: ides.studio/collections/tops/products/t-shirt-block-male To add the shoulder panels you need to draw the seamlines, cut-and-sew them and then merge the two pieces together at the shoulder seam. I can make you a video if you email me.

No worries :) I figured it was the word in another language. You can drag and drop different fabrics from the library into the property editor under the fabric tab. Then you select the pattern pieces that you want to be in those fabrics and you click the down arrow next to the fabric. It will assign the pattern piece to that fabric. Let me know if that's not clear and I'll find you a video that shows it more clearly.

how do you change the black point? or can you not?
@ides.studio
@ides.studio 21 күн бұрын
Do you mean how to do you edit it? The black points are called segment points, you edit those using the Edit Pattern Tool (Hotkey Z). If you want to change them to be curve points (red), using either the edit curve point or edit pattern tools, right click on them and select "convert to curve point."
@LMAOW
@LMAOW 28 күн бұрын
HI, If I click on the line or point and handle control doesn'r appear, what should I do?
@ides.studio
@ides.studio 27 күн бұрын
Are the points red? There are 2 types of curve points in CLO. The red dots are called curve points and use the edit curve point tool, if they are black dots, but there is a curve then they will have handles like a bezier curve. Those are the ones created with the edit curvature tool. Does this make sense?
@LMAOW
@LMAOW 27 күн бұрын
@@ides.studioyes, I'm talking about those blue hsndles coming from bezier curve. So we can ajuste the curve. These handles don't appear. No matter how much I click, or drag, they don't seem activated. So I assume I need to find an specific tool ar activate it somehow. And I am talking about templates that were ready. Templates I downloaded from CLOset to make an exercise. Actually a basic T-shirt with a V neck that I was trying to transform in a ordinary sweatshirt.
@ides.studio
@ides.studio 26 күн бұрын
@@LMAOW Ok so if there are black dots along the curve then yes, they should have bezier handles, you actually need to switch from the edit curvature tool to the edit pattern tool (hotkey Z), select the dot and the handles should appear. (I don't know why they make you switch tools) Let me know if that works.

Can you create a video on tackling fitment issues? I always get bad wrinkles below the bum behind the thighs using the formula in this video. thank you!
@ides.studio
@ides.studio Ай бұрын
I can have a go at it! My 2 tips straight away would be to assess if the excess is at the bum or the thigh. If you imagined pinching it out in real life would it pinch into the back rise or the back thigh? I can't remember if I mention it in this video, but it is very common in trousers for the back upper thigh to be ~1/8-1/4" shorter than the front upper thigh and it gets stretched to fit the front, which helps get rid of some of those under-bum wrinkles. Otherwise it could be taken out by reducing the back rise, either softening the curve or decreasing the overall length. One thing I MUST mention is the avatars in CLO, as well as alvanon forms, have pretty flat bums. So be careful in assessing things in 3D that you account for that and be sure you don't fall into the trap of trying to get rid of every wrinkle in 3D. Remember our clothes wrinkle in real life and pants that don't wrinkle in real life are probably skin tight with stretch- like jeans. So for a block like this, if you intend to use it IRL I might recommend double checking it in a toile/muslin. (and not to try and sell you something, but my friend who gave me these block making tips is also my pattern maker and she makes all my blocks, if you just want to get a clean starting point. I'm about to release them in graded sizes if our fit size isn't right for you) I will work on a full tutorial on fitting for you in the future!

is there a way to add topstitch lines for printing?
@ides.studio
@ides.studio Ай бұрын
Hi there! I am so sorry this comment got lost and I never responded to you. You can add seam allowance with the seam allowance tool which would leave a line for the sew line. Unfortunately there is no check box for topstitching on the PDF export. You would have to add them as internal lines, by selecting the pattern edges with topstitching and right click>offset as internal line. It might be a bit tedious, but you could set the distance and you could do double needle as well. Then in AI you could turn them to a dashed line if you wanted to.

Hi, just playing around with this some more. At 5:27 you mention advanced options eg the Dress Form pull down etc. I don't have these but it seems if I hit the gear icon I can see and select all the advanced measurements. Im using 2024.1 so wonder if in the latest update Clo dispensed with these menu drop downs and just allow users to select what specific measurement datums they want to use?

Hi there, yep. This video is in an outdated version of CLO. They’ve made quite a few updates to the avatar editor and I plan to make an updated version of this soon!
@allanpennington

This is interesting. I played around with Clo in 2018 for a while with a view to patterning corsets. This type of very close fitting garment had its challenges in Clo. Back then the avatars were quite basic and it seems they have made improvements as lots of users wanted to get something closer to their own measurements. I also played around with DAZ Studio and ended up making an avatar there and fro memory I think I saved it as an Obj file then imported it into Clo. Was much easier to morph the model in DAZ without distortions. It seems cup size is still something out of reach for the Clo user though. I use overbust measurement and bust circumference when patterning womens clothing. I feel it gives a better indication of cup size. The problem with DAZ was that detailed measuring metrics are a paid plug in whereas the Clo measuring tools are great. Its a shame though that you have to jump to and from different platforms to achiecve a better result.

They've recently updated the avatar editor and it is supposedly much better. I need to play around with it and potentially make and updated version of this. But yes, the bust is one area CLO has always struggled with. That and rises/heights of things. Browzwear probably does the best job for fit currently, but I hate the interface.

Do you not use illustrator? The PDF export from CLO really needs a bit of cleaning up in illustrator if possible. You can probably print them the same way in Acrobat, but I'm not sure you'll be able to easily move things around and organize them optimally.

This was so healpful but I hope you don't mine a few questions. 1) will this work in MD? Because thats what I have and I've been trying to figure out how to make belts and suspenders for a week now 2)speaking of suspenders could this be used to make them even thought it's a bunch of different strips of fabric instead of one long piece? 3) can you still animate in the program with the loop as an avatar? Like, if I animate the human avatar will the metal buckle follow
@ides.studio
@ides.studio 2 ай бұрын
1) I believe all these same tools exist in MD and it should be fine. 2) You can absolutely make suspenders like you'd make a belt, it's just a bit different process, but same idea. I'll add it to my list of tutorials if you like. 3) I am not an animation expert, but I believe you'll have to add the buckles as a trim, not an avatar, in order for it to move with the garment. It's a bit more finicky and I know it can give you some issues, but people do it, so try watching some videos on animation. Sorry I just don't really touch animation! It's not in my wheelhouse.

How can I put Awl Punch/Circle in the end of my darts?Or they come automatically when I go to print layout .....

@ides.studio 3 ай бұрын
So I got a tip from the CLO community. There is no actual tool for this, BUT the internal ellipse tool- specifically the baseline one- defaults to a 5mm circle which seems to be the perfect size for a punch hole marking. You can just add one of these on the pattern and then drag it by hand to the place you want it. (which can be outside the pattern on the seam allowance) It's not perfect, but should do the trick! Let me know how you go.

I recently downloaded clo3d. You say in the video that each avatar has its own folder.. but mine doesn't. It also only has 3 avatars and I understand there should be 6. Any ideas where I could learn to trouble shoot this?😊
@ides.studio
@ides.studio 3 ай бұрын
I've just downloaded the latest version to understand the issue and it seems there are only 3 female avatars now. I will check with CLO, but likely they have only made these 3 avatars compatible with all the new functions. The folder layout is also different, they don't each have their own folders anymore, but within some of the folders you will find subfolders with their names on it. Like for texture, you will find each different avatar's texture. Hope this helps!

Hello I’m trying to learn how to draft and grade my own patterns. What software are you using and how do you lock and secure your patterns to sell so no one will edit or copy them?
@ides.studio
@ides.studio 4 ай бұрын
Hi there. I use CLO 3D for pattern making and 3D design. I sell my patterns on my website as PDFs and working CLO files. I basically secure them by copyright and asking people not to share or resell them. It's honestly just an honor system that I hope my users respect my work enough not to redistribute my patterns or make money off my work without their own contribution. So far nobody has exploited me or my work as far as I know 😊

I created custom avatars for different sizes, but I can't really change the poses for them, the avatars distorts when I do so. Also this only happens when the avatar is wearing any garment.
@ides.studio
@ides.studio 5 ай бұрын
It’s best to change the pose without any clothes on. Just use your blank avatar, can be any size, and pose how you like. Then go to file>save as>pose. It’ll save a .pos file. Put that in a folder you’ve added to your library. Then open your file with your garment on the avatar and double click the pose file and your avatar’s pose will change.

When I select Mesh Box, I don't see my Waistband to be in different colour and I am not able to identify & select the Waistband extension with Mesh tool. Instead when I do it, it's pulling the Waistband extension like how Hand does after Simulation. I tried to bring the Right side (not right side of wearer but on screen) of Waist band to Layer 1, but that is also not working to bring the Pant to a finish.
@ides.studio
@ides.studio 4 ай бұрын
If it's pulling with the hand tool it sounds like maybe you're trying to use select mesh with simulation turned on? You need to turn simulation off when using select mesh. I recommend selecting in the 2D window to get exactly what you want and then click once on the green that you see in 3D and use the gizmo to move it. Let me know if this helps. It's really difficult to know exactly what you mean when I can't see what's happening on your screen in real time, but I'll do my best to help!
