you ought o tube them tires and lube those gears with a good lubricant.

I did think about tubing the tires but the rears aren’t leaking now that I’ve been using it and the front tire I ended up replacing it, I as well did get everything greased up off camera for it to be ready for sale. Stay tuned for next weeks video of addressing the bigger steering issue

@360plussyntheticsАй бұрын
Clean carb just for general purposes, and check the coil. It's my understanding that when some coils start to fail, they'll work fine until they get hot, then not start until they cool off some. And be fine until it gets hot again.
@Dorado1997Ай бұрын
The fact that it is sputtering to a stall makes me suspect the carburetor. You can drop the bowl on that engine. The bowl nut is your main jet. Clean that and see if there is any debris in the bowl that might be getting sucked up as you run it.
@Slim1423Ай бұрын
Check meter valve in bottom of carb. It is the screw that holds the carb bowl on, and sometimes the tiny holes in the bolt get clogged up. Clean out all holes on the meter valve screw, holes on left to right side, and hole down the middle, and reinstall. Can clean out with paper clip and carb cleaner. Also check air filter, if dirty just replace it. Old gas can cause problems too.
@jamesWilliams-ch9sn2 ай бұрын
Check for spark when it dies . If that's good and still not running spray carb cleaner in carb and try if that makes it run remove carb and clean remove gas tank and clean and replace fuel line

Gas cap was an after thought for me, go check out the latest video of the update on this mower if you haven’t seen it yet. Wasn’t a fuel issue
@SlitchBatty2 ай бұрын
It sounded like it was getting a spark. 🤔fuel issue maybe. You'll have to go into the carburetor and clean out all the gunk, I think.

After a couple stripes how's the oil level??? Maybe compression check? See about that magneto; I think you can get one for about 12 dollars
You need to raise the cutting height, then cross cut it. That engine was bogging down too much.

Spray some carb cleaner in the carburetor too see if she fires back up, if she does you need too check the fuel system. My guess is a collapsed fuel line! It's hard too kill a Quantum engine.

I would've told the customer they're right, they're not worth fixing. These mowers aren't even worth $5 ea. As is. Dumping another $50-$75 into a mower that wont bring $40 running hardly makes sense. Unless a guy is excited about making $9hr there is no way to fix these properly an make the customer happy.

That engine should only hold 20 oz. of oil .You have it way overfull with the whole qt.in there its gonna smoke like a chimeny I think it is a fuel issue maybe a blockage not letting the fuel run fast enough

I would start with the easy items/basics. Fuel - Is the white/clear gasket still on the inside of the gas cap? If not, it will vac lock the tank. it's extremely rare to happen if that gasket is there and the cap isn't caked with dirt/grime. Is fuel flowing through the fuel line properly? Is fuel flowing through the needle/seat on the carburetor as expected? These are quick, simple tests that won't cost anything. Air/Fuel Mixture - Are there any cracks in the air intake pipe? You will want to remove it and clean it to be sure. Is the air intake pipe still secured to the block properly? The screws are known to back out. Are the bolts on the cylinder head all secure? They can loosen also. Auto-Choke - Since this engine doesn't have a primer, but an auto-choke, is it opening all the way? Again, easy and free test - they open fairly quickly on these engines. Ignition/Spark - With a new plug, it would seem this has been ruled out. New doesn't always mean good, but the symptom persisted the same so odds are against it. Puts it at the coil or the kill wire. I would start with the wire, bc it's quick and simple. Disconnect it from the coil and see if the same thing happens again. They can self-ground in a few ways (worn insulation, grease, etc). When I get a tricky one like this, I start simple, easy, and free/cheap. Curious to see how it shakes out!

I really appreciate the very detailed comment/help. I will definitely be looking into these possibilities in the coming days when I get back on the mower. I have some other videos in the works right now so I will be sure to record what comes next with this problem mower. I appreciate you watching and giving some feedback to help me out and hopefully someone else that may be in the same position
@mattwickert7362 ай бұрын
@@BKsgarage95 No problem! One step I didn't mention specifically, but you likely would check along the way....if the fuel flow is slow out of the fuel line, disconnect from the tank and see if it changes. That'll help narrow down fuel line or tank. There is a small filter inside the tank that you can't see. I spent almost an hour one time, bc I had a fuel line that collapsed. Gave similar symptoms, as it let fuel through really slowly.

I had a 2004 about as loaded as this one. As soon as I saw the front end damage I knew what the problem was. Literally the worst vehicle I've ever owned... it did not stop requiring repairs in the entire five years I had it. Very comfortable vehicle when it worked, but it turned me away from Mopar for good. And I was a Mopar guy, too.

My first car was a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. It sat in my parents driveway for 5 years after the transmission failed. My parents paid for a new transmission and gave it to me when I was 16... No one taught me about oil changes... when I went in for my first oil change, the mechanics told me the car had no oil in it 🤦 I learned my lesson after that, but there was a bad engine knock (probably a bad lifter on the camshaft). However I drove that car for another 4 years before selling it off. I always thought pacifica's we're resilient... As long as you replace the faulty transmission! 😂

That’s awesome man, changing the oil and making sure it has oil in it is absolutely important though and pretty impressive it lasted that much longer after😂
