I used to live with my late (God Bless Their Souls) Grandparents in a small town called ... Curtis Bay, Maryland. In the back of their home were two wooded areas that we, as kids, used to play in every minute we could. One was called "The Little Woods" as it only encompassed about an acre or two. The other wooded area was called ..."The Big Woods," as it was miles wide & deep. Here too we could be found playing, shooting our BB Guns, throwing rocks in "Bloody Pound" & just doing the things kids of the late forties, fifties & early sixties did. At night when I was just about to go to sleep, I could hear the wonderful sound of the Whip-Poor Will back in the woods where I had just came from earlier that day. It's really too bad kids today don't have the opportunity we had back then. I wish I could get one or two near my home so they would carry me back to a time of innocence, exploration, the out of doors & just tons of good, clean fun!!! Perhaps in our next life! EOC James J. (Jeep) Bilenki Jr. USN. Ret. Pasadena, Maryland.

@@jedidiah5131 Ok, best of luck to you ! With energy costs rising, off-grid is the way to go. Solar panels I presume. But seems to be enough wind in NS a wind generator for cloudy days might pay off`. The way things are looking being mostly energy independent and food independent with a garden and a fishing pole seems like a smart move.

Its interesting. We are so different. Does anyone knows how many cubic meters of wood they do here in one month? I just want to compare. Over there is for one harvestor and forwarder monthly norm around 1600-2000 m3. If thinks go well and nothink breaks up.

I loved these birds in west umatilla where I grew up, especially on Halloween night with the moon out. After trick-or-treating I'd sneak a mile and a half down old spooky Rigdon road to the cemetary and listen to them. I used to fall asleep every night listening to them sing.

The guy who owns it right now is a dickhole. I think he has regrets. I Thought it was a motel, so I stopped in and waited for a friend to meet up with before going to bon echo and he came out a yelled at me to get off his property. Told me all these disgusting stories of other people dedicating on his front lawn. Idk man. Take down the motel sign if you dont want visitors
