Hi Mike, I can feel you, man. Im working 10 hours a day from monday to saturday. Sunday.. just too tired to do anything... I live in an area where people earning around 3500 euro after tax. But alot of ppl only around 2000 eur/month. I consider myself to be lucky because I can save 5000 eur each month. Im trying to buy my escape from this 10 to 6 life. But its getting harder each day. My parents are both very bad at making money. There were times where we could not buy food to eat... The problem is my parent think its "normal" in a first world country... Im affraid they wont make it without me.

So my job is kind of different in the sense that I go to a different school site each day to troubleshoot network or whatever it may be, and there is no supervising from higher ups because they're all in the office while I don't have an office. When you're used to working on the field, you basically control your own time, and it's that freedom that I don't think I can ever go back to an office job. For example, most of the time I don't stay for the full 8 hours and instead it's more of 4 hours and I finish the work and I go home. But I still get paid for 8 hours because they don't care as long as I'm getting the job done. Some days I finish within 1-2 hours and I go home. There is a start time and end time, but there is no one out on the field to monitor me or the work I'm doing. I just submit the result at the end of the day and that's literally it. The only time I go to corporate office is to pick up maybe equipment to replace faulty devices and that's honestly it, which I go to HQ maybe like once in few months? Sometime I go there once per half a year. I rarely go to office. When I get home, I just game with friends. That's the life lol. If I had the option, I would just game all day and wake up in the evening, but this is next best and it ain't so bad for me. I work few hours a day and that's it. I probably only work about 20-25 hours a week at most, but I get paid for 40+ hrs.

To each his own, but nothing is wrong with having a sense of purpose, productivity, self fulfillment and accomplishment. Working makes you appreciate the time you have off and things you have earned. Too much of anything is not a good thing even if it's free time and doing nothing.

Dentistry is not for everyone. Some make it in the medical field. Lots don't. At least you had support. Dropping out is your choice. If you don't make it, at least you'll know it was your decision and you had your chance, and we'll be at this peace with your choice. There is and is not opportunity out there. Choose wisely.
