Thank you. This was so good... I really needed to hear this tonight. It was such a gift. Such an encouraging, inspiring way to wrap it up... I had never heard that song before. ("The Work You Began.") .Thank you for keeping this going. You homie Rich's life and are a blessing to those of us who loved Rich's music back in the day...

They look like they just had a huge argument the performance and had to go onstage anyway…only God truly knows what was going on, but who are we to judge?! I’m glad they both seem much happier now. And remember: You, nor I, are any good if it wasn’t for our Lord’s grace!

I love this and looking forward to episode 2. At 67 I thought wisdom and maturity in a Christian sense would be in full bloom. Not! I guess we are all beggars, because I'm still begging the Father to change me. Blessings to you both.

I’m feeling so completely hopeless. About to turn 61. The past 7 years I’ve written and album and a 410,000 word book. This is something I’ve known God would have me do since church camp 1978. It’s done. As far as the writing I’m satisfied. Now I want to go home. I’m in really a bad place in my thoughts. All alone. Reclusive. No money to speak of. I’m just .. I’ve had enough of this life.

Bro. Thanks for sharing and reaching out. Sounds like you are going thru a dark place. Remember what's TRUE, my friend....you do NOT walk alone and there is always hope. Can you find a safe place where you live to connect with others and have help keeping your eyes on Jesus?
@MarkEvanWhite5 күн бұрын
@@EricHauckMusic thanks for your kind words of encouragement. I try to reach out, go to church etc, but I just never connect. It’s like I’ve never really fit in anywhere very well. Not wanting to sound aloof in any way towards anyone, but, people are just shallow or something. That added to my own feelings of failure.. I don’t know what to do about it. I’m actually feeling a little better than I was the other day. Trying to not give up.

Thank you for sharing this interview! It was great to hear from start to finish. I went to Westport Playhouse to hear Rich that Saturday. (As well as 3 other live concerts over the years. Lastly, his memorial service in Wichita.) Rich was 15 years my senior and I didn't always know how to take him at that time. Now, I appreciate him and understand what he shared much better. So glad he pursued a selective higher education and stayed grounded in classical, etc. music. He was relatable and seemed like a friend or family.

I remember hearing the cups song come Out in a movie and I picked up a cup and immediately played right along. My friends were in disbelief. I said “I learned this way back in high school!! How do you not know this!” It was From this song… what a blessing it was to be able to meet him in person a few times.

This lifted me knowing that Jesus gave all the love he could and some just didn't have the capacity to receive. We need to remember this when we are rejected.

43:50 intro and song "Rest Assured". Rich seemed to have a great love for those who served God faithfully over their lifetimes and taught him by example. I'm thankful for them too. I believe a touch of their influence was woven into the lyrics so beautifully penned by him through the years. We are the recipients of that blessing and I am grateful. Serve the Lord...leave a legacy that matters…you never know how your life may impact the world for years to come.
