I did the same thing on my first couple orders. Missing a part, but it was in my part out queue. In one instance I had to go buy a set, doing what you did if you list by date descending it makes it easier to find a set tat might be in stock.

The role of resellers in the global market has evolved to be both more demanding and beneficial. Developments like the rise of eCommerce, the adoption of dropshipping, and the practice of value-added reselling have transformed the industry, presenting fresh avenues for accessing global markets and underscoring the importance of tailored solutions and comprehensive customer support in New Zealand. How does this differentiate New Zealand?... Hence Lego reselling in NZ worth it ?.... PS love and watch your vids
@kiwibrickexchange14 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I don’t think it differentiates New Zealand much besides us having high shipping rates to the rest of the world 😅 - if you have watched the vlogs 95% of my orders are from the local market here and we don’t need to open up yet to international. It’s busy enough!

Do you need to file your income to the IRD for tax purposes? Or is this something you don’t really need to worry about with the size of your store. :)

13:25 That also have happened for me, but luckily only once, I since began to pack one order at a time and then write the buyers name on the box/envelope so I don’t mix them up
@kiwibrickexchange21 күн бұрын
Yes I do that normally too but had quite a few orders to get through after camp - The classic example of trying to do things quicker to save time, but in the end it causes you issues and more time. A tired brain is not a good order picker!

Is this more a passion than a money maker? Must be a lot of work for revenue you get.
@kiwibrickexchange21 күн бұрын
This is the ultimate question :D It's a combination of everything - passion, money maker & investment. It's not a "lets aim for this hourly rate". It is a lot of work to setup, a lot of work to build, and a lot of work to pick. But now we have regular customers, regular orders and things continue to improve! We will break this all down in our one year selling video coming December 2024 :D
@jameshunter745620 күн бұрын

Hey there! Im stsrting up a new/used store approx 100,000+ pieces to sort through inly managed to sort around 1/8 so far:)8 hrs a day still no closer... i was wondering for you personally how long did it take you from going live to reciveing you first order/orders, and 1st week through to month 6 approx how many sales did you get per week/month as id really like to see a realistic goal:) TarXanBricks
@kiwibrickexchange26 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question. It all depends really but we started very small 3-4K parts and built slowly. First order was within two weeks through a promo voucher and then orders started trickling in. In terms of detailed sales numbers etc I’m not really inclined to put it out in detail unless it’s under member content or a private zoom call etc. There are things that I see as a point of difference for us that I’d rather not share too publicly on vlogs etc. In saying that the vlogs should give you an idea of how things went.

Kiwi Brick Exchange : I know this video is 9 months old. I have a business associate in CHINA that will get me any set I would like, I'm trying to get something EXCLUSIVE to CHINA and not sold in the STATES - Something BIG - Please Recommend something that can be bought only there, that is of HIGH VALUE, that I can't get here in the US. Thank you!
@kiwibrickexchange29 күн бұрын
Hi Marco, from my experience sets are generally not exclusive to a country - but across regions. I did see a heap of Monkie Kid sets that we don't really get here over in New Zealand. You might want to ask them to go into Lego official stores and grab some of the magazines?
@Marco1973est29 күн бұрын
@@kiwibrickexchange : Yes they are gifting me a big award, based on some help I did for them - So the offer is pretty big, more than a few magazines, but that's a good start. I was thinking about Monkey Kid, (I wonder if they have any of those LARGE sets with 22 some+ figures)........ as that line is marketed strong in that neck of the globe........If you happen to think of anything over the next week, please let me know. Thanks!
@Marco1973est29 күн бұрын
@@kiwibrickexchange BTW those Monkey Kid sets you picked up are a Nice grab, even tho you picked them up for parts...... The Red Son's is a super nice set!
@kiwibrickexchange26 күн бұрын
Yeah they are great and most of the parts have sold. I wish I had more luggage space and in hindsight I would have bought lots more! I'd suggest looking for a larger set then with good minifigures & lots of Dark Bluish Grey/Light Bluish Grey parts. Star Wars sets over in China were actually quite rare except for the main store and were definitely overpriced compared to here in NZ

Nice video, look forward to you guys going through the bulk haul. For the empty drawers, I use small colored binder clips clipped on to the handle when I have room in a particular drawer. The colors don’t mean anything, it’s just an easier way to catch your eye. This has worked good for me. I used to turn the drawers around, but as you said, it became irritating to pull out.
@kiwibrickexchangeАй бұрын
Binder clips! That’s a great solution. Appreciate it. Thanks for the feedback too :)
@haybrixАй бұрын
For the draw solution- I use little dot stickers and place them on the front and have different colours for new and used so that when I'm putting parts away I can see straight away what's got a free spot. Usually I will add a sticker when I'm picking orders, putting parts away or just stumbled across it! Hope this helps!
@kiwibrickexchangeАй бұрын
Yeah I hear ya, how easy do the dots come off after haha? I feel like mine would get stuck
@haybrixАй бұрын
Mine come off really easy. There the green Avery dots (from Officeworks) and I just put them hanging over the edge (of the top of the draw where there is the lip thing, handle thing?) a little so that I can pull them off easy enough!@@kiwibrickexchange

I know IKEA and stores like that have similar type containers. We got these for free but I think they are like plastic food containers - something like that would work well from a bulk store/wholesaler that stocks supplies for restaurants etc. Not sure where you are, but that's my best suggestion
