Just swapped springs and oil for my 2015 which only has the adjusters on the RH fork. Neither the Yamaha service manual or the Haynes manual mentioned the rebound "calibration" # of clicks, so imagine my confusion when it only spun without clicking near fully closed. Luckily you answered my question at 4:00, now I just have to disassemble and adjust ;) Thank you!

question for you man, i’m doing the same on my ‘14. were your stock spacers different width between left and right forks before putting in the new springs and spacers?
@Jan_Nicolaisen2 ай бұрын
@@karlkrueger9941 My kit used the original spacers. The right hand fork has all the adjusters, so there's a completely different spacer on the RH fork than the left. It's locked onto the top of the cartridge to allow the preload adjuster to work. Did you buy a kit that requires swapping out the spacers?
@karlkrueger99412 ай бұрын
@@Jan_Nicolaisenyes, i bought the traxxion dynamics kit, it replaces just the right side (with adjusters) spacer and washers, and replaces the left side spacer but not washers. I’m assuming in stock form the spacers are completely different. i.e the right was much thinner and the damper rod slid through it, and the left had a much wider spacer and washers but no damper rod? does that sound right to what your bike had?

What do I do if my Gen2 fork bushings are stuck during dis-assembly?
@0n59610 ай бұрын
Not useful because it is not clear what parts you put in to reassamble. Rather than showing the shop you want to give a close look of what you put together. Unless this video is for Yamaha shop mechanics.

My FJR forks were serviced by a Class I Yamaha Service Center at it was still done wrong. It has NO suspension travel and finally the fork oil burst out of the fork cap all over the suspension and left a pool oil on ground. Peter explains how to do it right in a later video.

My one is gen 2 2007

Hold the sub-assembly upright and gently wiggle the cartridge inside, holding the plunger within the stanchion. You should hear a "click" when the threaded heel of the cartridge finally falls in place in the tapered bottom piece. Hope this helps.

Thank you Very much for the videos! Very Professional and step by step instructions. Just like if you were training me as a new employee. I just had to replace my FJR rear shock with a top of the line Ohlins, and noticed one of my fork seals leaking. 40k on the bike so doing good. You just saved my Bacon because I can now afford to do the job myself. Can you give me the dimensions of your nylon driver/installer? Thank you again.

Hi oil gap should be 104 or 100mm? Thanks
@Computrackboston3 жыл бұрын
Air gap is a tuning variable that can be tuned to a specific rider's needs. We have found that the air gap that works well for most riders on the FJR is between 120 and 150mm.

Ok,now I see now that your working on a Gen 1 FJR, it only has 1 bushing under the seal, mine is a 2006 ,Gen 2 with a second bushing below the upper bushing, Yamaha doesn’t sell the special lower bushing driver here in Canada anymore so I made a lower bushing driver out of a 4” length of 2” exhaust tubing cut lengthwise and lined with clear packing tape
@robertbond5822 жыл бұрын
Sure would like to see, at what stage (order) that lower outside bushing is installed.

@Computrackboston4 жыл бұрын
There is an o-ring in there that needs to be replaced, but you cant get it from Yamaha without buying the cap. You can remove it and match it at a local shop that sell o-rings, or measure it and order them from a supplier.
