So, can this system seamlessly transition between grid and battery without noticing via parameters you set? Also, can you program it to , let's say, use all solar and up to X kw of battery at the same time as supplementing from the grid?

The last time it snowed in my home town (2004) I didn't have any solar panels. The time before that when it snowed I was away to college. That was 1967. Before that it snowed in 1953 (I think)... I didn't know anything about anything. But I watched your entire video. LOL!

A tip for your snow rake on an extended pole. Start using the thicker extensions, the thinner diameter extensions near the top can bend or break, just use as much of the heavier extensions, and be careful when you need to use the full length of the extension pole, go slow to prevent bending the extension pole..

Can you program a quattro with programmable relay to look at that AUX1 input and based on SOC, try to turn on the AC power or try to turn on the actual gernator start? Example... Cerbo commands it's relay 1 to call for external power at 15%SoC. The AUX1 is made and the quattro tries to connect to the grid. If the grid isn't available, then obviously it can't. Time goes on and the SoC drops to say 10% and the quattro then tries to start my generator of hte 2nd input. I had no idea all this programability existed in the victron system.
@AdamDeLayDIY
@AdamDeLayDIY Күн бұрын
@@ai4px I believe you could, you would just have to use a mixture of assistants and the cerbo relay. Unfortunately the Cerbo only allows relay 1 to be programmed for the generator. So you would have to program an assistant for 1 power source and then the Cerbo for the other power source. If you think this customization is cool, you should look at NodeRed. That gives you even more flexibility and control over all different aspects of your Victron system.

It's interesting to see what you have to do to keep snow off them but it must be a bit frustrating to spend an hour cleaning them only to have it snow again and cover it all back up. I wonder how practical it would be to have a tough clear plastic sheet that you could wind up and down (one roll at the ridge of the roof, one at the gutter, wind onto the gutter roll then wind it back up) to clear it. No snow here but it does rain a lot at times. Depending on the measurement station in town there's been 100mm to 200mm (3.5 to 7.5 inches) so far this year. December saw around 350mm at all stations.

@@Cross75777 You could wire an outlet directly off the load port but most people tend to wire up what's called a "critical loads" panel to the load port. The Load port is for anything you want the inverter to power. Most people tend to wire a Critical Loads panel to the Load port of the inverter (it's just another breaker panel). You would move any loads from your grid panel into your critical loads panel. You would then be able to run a set of lines from your grid panel into the Grid port on the inverter. This would allow you to charge your batteries from the grid (if desired) or to have grid power pass through the inverter to the Load port in the event that your batteries got too low.

@@Cross75777 If you're asking if you could run a cable with a plug on the end of it (a suicide plug) from your load port to a 220 outlet in the wall that has it's power supplied from the grid panel, no you cannot.
