Powdered POM is consider a lubricant. It's "self lubricating" because as the stem and the housing scrape against each other, over time, the powdered plastic would compensate for the scratchy surface due to use.

Why does it seem like these switches are a bit taller than regular mx switches? Are they the same height? I'm considering purchasing these and perhaps modifying the springs to match one of my favourite switches

I have Keychron V1 with Gateron Yellow Pros and I'm thinking of getting some of those Navy for specific keys like Esc and Home just so I can have some nice clicky experience now and then.

Filled my keyboard with these recently. Every couple of weeks one starts double registering and needing replacing. Are they known to be unreliable?

It could be an igus iglidur like material. Color does match but all china clones of such self-lubricanting bearings (that’s were i ran into them) were miles away from real deal. Them stating it’s POM (or Delrin) points more to the fact that it’s very resistant to friction and theoretically glides more easily but has nothing to do with igus.

These are some great switches for an ultra-retro build, with tall rounded caps and a metal wraparound case for maximum click. That’s my idea endgame clicky build lmao

I wonder if different keycap profiles like SA or MT3 would accentuate the squishy muted clicker sound. Besides that I think these sound pretty decent.

Your looking at custom keyboards wrong. This is a family heirloom. Still an insane number of clicks, but wasd is going to wear out after a couple generations.

awesome video!! first time I see the disassembly of a switch and how it works in real life, not the 3D renders, which is not the same. From listening to the video, think the silent clicky swtich sounds almost like a tactile switch?

Use o-rings on them, they feel INCREDIBLE! It makes them feel like really low actuation force, because you’re expecting to press the keys deeper, but they still give the super crisp loud, thick clicks.

From the MOMENT (however many years ago it's been) I saw a video on the first box switches and how they set up the white click bars, I wanted to try experimenting with dampening the impact point to essentially extract the sound while keeping the tactility. Fast-forward to a year ago and I'm reminded of that idea when these switches come out. Not quite sure why they changed the design to work how it does, but the use of a dense silicone doesn't quite do as good of a job as some other more porous material would. I mean, I get that it would likely be unreasonable to use something like foam or felt from a manufacturing efficiency standpoint, but one of these years I'll be able to pick up some thick bars and finally put my idea to the test ♥️

Very good review! I just don't understand why they are called "cream" when they are scratchier than a chainsmokers voice ... holy If you actually want creamy, deep switches take a look at the "Cow Switches (UHMWPE)" they are the best switches I've ever tried

@unzkipriime4283
@unzkipriime4283 Жыл бұрын
why did you go from jades to navys?
@fuzzynine
@fuzzynine Жыл бұрын
@@unzkipriime4283 when I first ordered the click Bar switches I wanted to go for Box Whites. But before the order was shipped I changed my mind and opted for a somewhat heavier switch. Frankly just be cause I felt like it. I have fat hands... soooo.... I went for the Jades instead. And after over a year I wanted to try out other clickies. The reviews on the Clickiez were mixed and I didn't want to revert to click jackets. I was happy with the Jades weighting so I went with heavier instead of lighter switches. And from Jades there is only one option upwards the spring weighting ladder.

@@fuzzynine are you only typing on them or also gaming? im asking all this for own reference
@fuzzynine
@fuzzynine Жыл бұрын
@@unzkipriime4283 I play on them as well. But not competitive online games. And I have a noise cancelling headset that works pretty fine. 90% is work and typing. 10% is gaming. But I play "retro games" mostly action RPGs and stuff where you don't need an immense amount of concentration. So basically I'm not a good reference when it comes to playing games. And yes. I think that playing on Kailh Speed Copper or Feker Pandas feels better than on the Navies and Jades.
