As a local resident it appears that the new chimney at the cement works in Padeswood has been added (looking at the shape). This did not appear until around 2005. Otherwise looking forwards to the completion (and perhaps the loop to Mold?). Plus the loop from the LNWR to the north and then on to Buckley which is quite a steep uphill. I also not the train did not stop at Hope - remember the old saying "Live in Hope and die in Caegwrle"

You could use the AP Class 315 in blue/grey without the Pantograph coach as an alternative 508

The era I am recreating is before the 508s came over to the wirral

There is now a 508 reskin that has realistic lights and liveries from all eras available on backdated trainsim

Well it is NOT PS3 /4 & if it was PS5" Graphics would be vastly improved ( passengers wouldn't suddenly disappear before they get anywhere the train. So, it is either XBOX 👎 or PC ROM It ain't bad inspite of what i said of negativity about it. But, out of curiosity i wonder which format it is on. As many would like to know.( besides myself).

I loved that you included Hope Upper and Lower level stations. A very usual railway feature, as there was no road access to either. Nice job!

Your vids are phenomenal

Really impressive piece of work Mike. I particularly enjoyed Buckley Junction. I've been building an OO scale model of it, so I understand how difficult research can be for this line. Is your route available online anywhere?
@jamesmather9990 Жыл бұрын
The attention to detail is phenomenal and I cannot imagine how long it takes to do one of these. I would love to see a video of how it’s done. Forget the rivet counting, I am just blown away. Even the instruments on the dashboard working. Phenomenally well done.

I find it fascinating to see what the old lines were like. Was it possible to get from Chester Northgate to Chester General direct?
@mikedunning43962 жыл бұрын
Not by train no, 10 minute walk though
@Steve14ps Жыл бұрын
The line from Northgate to Mickle Trafford crosses over the General to Birkenhead LMS?GWR joint line, but as already pointed out no link. The route from Mickle Trafford to Hawarden Bridge is now a cycle track

awesome, only disappointment was the building used for Blacon Station was nothing like what it looked like. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacon_railway_station#/media/File:Blacon_railway_station_1823495_febb5f91.jpg

Hawarden Station was never stone but both the original and post fire rebuild were brick. The station house high up at the end didn't look that posh. It's still there.

Hawarden Bridge Junction was not on platform at Shotton and was not LNWR type. The Shotton 1950s booking office isn't shown.

Hi Matt, I appreciate your comments, Unfortunately I dont have the assets to recreate some of the fixtures as they appeared and I have built this route mainly by going of photos,, If you have images of the correct signals and positions I will glady replace what I have done so far

@@mikedunning4396 I think he meant thank you for a great film. As someone who used to work in Shotton Steelworks I found that fascinating. A real glimpse into the past

My dad use to drive freights to both Shotton Steal works and the Paper Mill in the early to mid 80s before he transfered to Chester. Shown him this video and he loves it. Brought back a lot of memories of it for him. I was down there three times last week cycling. You wouldnt think it was the same area to what it use to be. Intriguing and the level of detail you have gone to with making them is brilliant. You can even see the floodlights of the old Sealand Road ground. Brilliant mate.

the only thing missing is the squeal of the wheels as the train goes around the sharp bend and under the footbridge after leaving Central

Hi, a reply after all this time! Thanks, Mike. I live near to the cycleway, the old Mickle Trafford to Dee Marsh line. Are there any shunting movements at Dee Marsh sidings these days?

Great work Mike, you have had some great responses on my FB group "What Deeside Did To Us" allowing us to re travel lost train routes has been an incredible experience, especially during this confinement. Would love to see a tutorial on how you create these videos.
