I find it fascinating to see what the old lines were like. Was it possible to get from Chester Northgate to Chester General direct?

The line from Northgate to Mickle Trafford crosses over the General to Birkenhead LMS?GWR joint line, but as already pointed out no link. The route from Mickle Trafford to Hawarden Bridge is now a cycle track
