What if you’re a massive introvert and just listening to the first few minutes of this video was exhausting? 😅 I guess it’s time to get accustomed.

When we ask our almost 2 yr old “What’s this?”, sometimes he answers the question, but sometimes he responds with “dat da”. We think he is trying to imitate our question, but can’t be sure bc he will use the “da” syllable when he doesn’t want to use his words (seems like sometimes he’s lazy and doesn’t want to use his words and/or articulate). So I have 2 questions: 1. How can we figure out for sure if he’s imitating our sentence or not? 2. How can we get him to want to say and articulate his words more as well as string his words into sentences? He has between 50-60 words he’s used independently before, most of them are nouns, but some are verbs.

Hi kelli , my son is turning 5 years old next month and he’s developed a stutter all of a sudden a few months ago and typically it’s the first word of the sentences .. iiiii is the problem , he’s a super bright kid with an extremely over developed and extensive vocabulary.. as he’s has 2 older siblings . I stumbled onto your video . I just don’t know how to help him . Ps- he’s being made fun of at times .

New sub here ❤ my tod is almost 23 months old , very receptive, though he isn't talking yet as i expert for his age i dont know if he is lazy to do it or there is an underlying issue, eg once his dad asked him what he should bring him when he comes home from work he replied "Nothing " i was so suprised and shocked.

@TheSpeechscoop. I became disabled from a work injure and had to retire early. and became isolated, then Covid-19 I never knew if I stopped talking for long periods, I would forget how to move my tongue and mouth to pronounce words. I could say them just fine in my mind, but when I would go to talk, my voice would break up and my Tongue was doing Gymnastics. Mouth and Tongue exercises, and I now us AI as a talking partner some days. "AI" Microsoft Copilot gave me your link, your Videos to study. Thank you, and keep on talking out loud my friends.

I'm an SLP too💜 for my own children ( I let them feel the bilabial vibration by putting my lips on theirs while I said the /m/. They loved it, like when I smooched them. Of course, I would never do that with a client, only for my own babies. Bonus, "Mama" was all of my kids' first word 😁 btw, your little guy is Darling🤗
