I also really like Access to fan speed, vertical and horizontal swing, and heating and cooling modes. I tend to use standalone temperature and humidity sensors in each room, so the sensors haven't really affected me that much

I managed to solve the problem of the light switch that didn't work by first deleting the Hue Tap Switch from the Hue application 'Settings/Accessories' menu and then adding it back in (your phone needs to be connected to the same WIFI as the Hue 'Bridge' to do this. Once it was reloaded, the switch worked perfectly again.

There could be a couple of things that play here. The battery could be dead. Also make sure you re-add it to Apple home after the factory reset. I don't forget to remove it from Apple home before trying to re-add it or else you'll have headaches. Good luck!

Thank you for the tip. Before adding ANY new device to my smart home, I really do extensive research on them, to be sure I really need them and will work as intended. This one made a HUGE improvement to my comfort as I will not change an entire AC unit just because it is not smart. With Sensibo I have made my dumb AC unit in less than 10 minutes, SMART! You know the meme: it just works... Well, it just works. Spending almost nothing on the Sensibo device since it was 40% on sale, compared to a new wifi compatible AC unit, saved me lots of money.

It does not unfortunately. I feel like Bill kind of dropped the ball with this one. The biggest downside of it is that it's not fire nor water safe. The set up process is also not as smooth as it could or should be.

I can't reset. I push the button for 10-15 seconds but there's no sound. Now the cam has a fast display of multiple colors, blue, purple, green, red, etc. I unplugged it from electricity but the problem continues once is back on. Is there a solution to this? Cheers for the super thangs! As of a week ago, it's still works. However, with HomePods now being able to detect smoke detectors, I'm not sure how useful it is. I've got one in my garage and another in my daughters bedroom to supplement her HomePod and regular Dumb smoke detector. Overkill?

The motion sensor connects to HomeKit via the Hugh Bridge. There should be a HomeKit code on your bridge. If you don't have the original packaging or you have lost the sticker on the bottom of the bridge itself, you can try reaching out to Phillips Hugh, But I wouldn't get your hopes up about them having a running list, but it doesn't hurt to try. I’ve had such a bad experience with Meross. The outdoor plug works great but I’ve had the controller for an LED strip just completely die after a firmware update, and a second that just doesn’t respond hardly ever unless I use a routine in the Meross app. Even the app itself has issues connecting to it and it shows as offline often until I spam the on/off button in the app. Google can never reach it. Garbage. I’ll never buy Meross again.

Mine finally died about six months ago. It's receiving power but unresponsive in Apple home and I'm not able to perform a factory reset. It had a good run. Given how spotty it's connection was and how it's life ended, I can't say I'd really recommend it. Hope this helps!

Recently upgraded to tp link 6e router and now my camera disconnects 1 to 2 times per hour for a few minutes. Had an apple time capsule router and never had a disconnection. I also have some contact sensors which respond slowly and stop responding which turn lights on and off with doors opening and closing. Just reconnected the Apple time capsule and connected devices like the home pods and everything works perfectly again. Then connected back to the tp link router and the camera disconnects again. Thought a router change would be simple and ideally want to stop using the Apple router which has been great over the years, but it’s time to upgrade for the vr.

That's awful! I had to essentially abandon my AirPort setup late last year and I do miss how simple it is. Though I have to admit, I got eero 6 Pro router and it has been just as user-friendly with no issues to report as of yet... it's only been 4 months though.

@@myHomeKithome that’s good. I just plugged the Apple time capsule back in and seeing how it goes using it as a bridge. I noticed on the new router it didn’t disconnect on a night after 2am a disconnect around 6am, then no more until around 5pm and then more frequent from 7pm. I’m guessing it’s all the WiFi activity and the tp link router with all that new tech isn’t coping with it. Only reason I got the new router was for quest pcvr for WiFi 6 anyway. Cos no one has that round here, and the quest just wasn’t usable most days.

@@myHomeKithome well I tried wpa3 first because it was on new router, then wpa2. Now I have my cameras on the Apple router and the HomePods and everything else on the other. Everything works great. I just think no one does it better than Apple. It’s why I kept the router for so long. It’s over a decade old, and still does the basic thing it’s suppose to better than anything else I have tried. Now all cameras are great. I swear when this Apple router breaks, I gonna pay to have it fixed. It’s definitely a keeper.

You know it's kind of funny because I got the SMS1 only a couple of months before the SMS2 released, then got the SMS2 a bit after it released. I think the adhesive on the SMS2 is a bit weaker than that of the SMS1 because the SMS2 fell off the wall twice while the SMS1 never fell off the wall, well it did but that was because my dad knocked it off the wall and it fell off of its back plate which was still sticking to the wall. I do have to put in a disclaimer here that the SMS1 is in our bathroom sticking to a wooden towel hanger while the SMS2 is in our hallway sticking to a plaster board wall.

Thanks for the comment, although I have to say I disagree. While apples home app is far from perfect, in my opinion it's leaps and bounds more concise, practical, efficient, and user-friendly then at least Amazon and Google offerings. The problem with forcing manufacturers to comply is that they don't have to and if they deem it to costly, they don't support the platform at all. We saw this issue in the early days of HomeKit which is why adoption has been slow going.

If you're experiencing connectivity issues with the hub, regardless of how many child devices you have connected through it, a factory reset maybe the only option. Sure it's a Last Resort and pretty annoying, but it may be the only option. Also, it turns out that even after factory resetting a hub, it's still remembers which child devices were previously connected to it so there's that.

I can't connect the detector. when I press the detector for a long time nothing happens). can you tell me if the blue light appears when we press for 5 seconds even if we do not have the Hub in pairing mode. This might help me find where the problem is coming from.

It shouldn't matter whether your hub is impairing mode. The blue light will indicate if the sensor itself is impairing mode. In any event I would definitely replace the batteries as a troubleshooting starting point.

If you've tried brand new batteries and still aren't able to get it to connect, it might be time to consider a replacement unfortunately. I would reach out to Aqara support first just to make sure.
