I’ve heard you have to be 21 to be a garbage man/ just to get your CDL..is that true? Also, does it pay well? I am nearly out of high school and it is a career path I am interested in.

@@Bowling2578 I got my CDL class A at 19 got hired to be a garbage truck driver at 20 I beat the odds but think due to Covid and me having some commercial experience definitely helped my case. The pay is great you can make over $120k lots over time I suggest you start doing research I wish I started even sooner right when I turned 18

What happens if you dump the waste in while the compactor is compacting or not fully retracted? Has someone got to climb in a manually clear the waste out from behind so it can carry on working?

@@HughzieTube there’s sensors that prevent me from raising the can above the roof if the blade is not retracted but it has happened before the sensor had glitched out and I dumped a full can behind the blade haha very messy clean up

@@Dreambig62 The Labrie's are my favorite especially the Low load ones I had a 2012 until they replaced it with brand new 2022 Mack/Heil with the python arm which I didn't like because the arm was big and bulky.

@@wastemanagement_guy route owner never called dispatch to get them replaced due to WM previously owning this city. A lot of times if the customer doesn’t say Anything and the can isn’t damaged it probably won’t get replaced
