I just now noticed that in the last scene where the doctor tells Clara to be down in 5 mins is his right hand. In his previous incarnation that was the hand that was cut off. Even though it's a new body I like to think that that hand is now just sassy lol!

As a Texan, I can validate that this is indeed what goes through most American's minds when somebody who isn't familiar with firearmd handles a live firearm. Also, at the risk of sounding like a know-it-all, this episode has a historically inaccurate representation of the firearms of the era. The episode takes place in the 1800s, during which time double-action revolvers were only in the developmental, or at most, prototype stages. What the revolver Amy uses looks like is a.... I don't even think it's an actual model of a firearm, but I might be mistaken. The first two can be accounted for, and they are performed correctly, and we'll assume they are done in such a matter for historical accuracy, and not showbiz flair. The last two shots she takes, however, cannot be explained. As far as I saw she didn't re-cock the hammer, meaning she simply pulled the trigger and it fired. This wouldn't have worked in real life. And don't try and explain it away as being an improvement by the alien doctor (I forget his name), because it is never implied that he did so, and would actually contradict his purpose for being in the town. He wouldn't improve weapons of death. Now I might be wrong on the time scale, since I can't quite recall the exact area it takes place in, but I highly doubt it was in the late 1800s. Thank you for attending my revolver-talk. And this isn't a bash on the show. Just a somewhat short explanation on one scene.
