These little guys are great for 2 to 3 inch clean up jobs...They save a lot of back aches...But you need a full size blower when going in to that much snow.

I just received a variation of this knock-off design but with a Rex C100 PID controller -- customized AFAICT as many of the configuration modes are missing. Anyway it is -10*F low at 100*c and -20*C low at 200*C however only a fixed offset appears in the controller firmware vs. a multiplier which would solve the problem. Dunno.. it appears reasonably constructed otherwise and I could graft in a separate C-100 controller, thermocouple, or both however I wasn't intending this to be a kit proposition. Likely going back to the Amazon returns dumpster in KY which is a shame as except for the control issue the unit could be retrofitted for correct operation.

138degrees meltpoint is considered low melt solder and not appropiate for soldering. You need ar least 190degrees. This will be more durable for your pcb’s.

There’s no need to fill with foam but I get your concern. Just drill a couple 1/4” holes, one on each end of bottom to drain water. Foam could trap water. I see you put a stop on shaft underneath to avoid having motor hit bottom of yak which is important. After all my criticism, you did good.
