If you ever have to paint again, check into using a paint sprayer for most of it. The only thing you have to use a brush for is cutting in. The sprayers nowadays are really easy to use. You did a great job on your build. -Susan

My boyfriend and I are planning on renovating my parents garage and converting it into a studio apartment for us because the cost of living is insane, plus my dad always wanted me to keep the house once him and my mom pass away, and this video is super helpful. I’m trying to do some things diy to save on costs but your budget breakdown was super helpful!
@ZacharyBuhler Жыл бұрын
That sounds awesome! Glad I could help. Try not to spend too much money on it if the house is going to stay in your parents name because you don’t want to be left with regrets afterwards if you put a lot of money into it and don’t own the house right now.

What is your opinion about maxing it out at the beginning of the year (6,000 all at once) be breaking it up monthly to still hit 6000 by end of the year?). Also how much have you put in that has made you have 24k total?
@ZacharyBuhler2 жыл бұрын
If you have the money to put it all in right at the beginning of the year then that is the best thing to do because you’ll be getting interest on the entire amount for the entire year. Most people can’t do it all at once which is why monthly is a good option, but any time you can do it all at once then do that and you’ll come out better ahead. So far I have put in $14,368 so it has made me $10,470 over a 4 year span. I started this on July 1, 2017.

Thanks for subscribing! Yeah, I’m about as big of a Dave Ramsey fan as they get. I’ve been working his plan for about 8 years and his advice is spot on! My goal is to get more and more people listening to his advice because it has paid off greatly for me. My finance channel isn’t going to be as popular because people are going to want me to tell them to get a credit card, build their credit score, buy crypto, but I’m going to do the exact opposite because all of that stuff is stupid 😂
@NicNameIsNicki2 жыл бұрын
@@ZacharyBuhler wow that’s a long time! I’ve been following him for a little over a year now and he has changed my life as well. Before becoming a listener, I bought a new car. After listening, I sold the car after having it for about 15 months and even changed career plans (I got into a graduate program but decided on another career to avoid student loans). I never thought that I would do either, (especially change careers), because I thought I was dead set on becoming a physical therapist, but I did. I’m now cash-flowing school to become an RN. Lol! Yes. People love to fight him on the credit card topic😂. After 8 years, I’m sure you will stay true to his principles.

Wow Ashley that is an incredible story! What a change in your life to decide you won’t go into student loans so you changed your entire major! Kudos to you, that is amazing! I also went to school without taking out a student loan and it’s the best decision I ever made. That’s really all it takes, is people just have to decide if they are going to be “normal” and take out debt like everyone else or are they going to change their habits and change their mindset to be “different” 😃 I also want to take a minute and recognize the fact that you are going to become an RN! You are incredible for that. Thank you for doing that! It’s a really tough field to be in and RN’s are heroes in my book! They are saving lives and I hope you make a lot of money doing it 😁

How many square feet? Was this a garage and you turned it into an apartment? If so, what does the rest of the house look like? Do you pay rent or mortgage? Your place is very clean and kind of spacious for a studio.
@ZacharyBuhler3 жыл бұрын
Roughly 400 ft.². It used to be a garage, but when we bought the house it was just a large room with concrete and wood paneling that was connected to the main part of the house. The rest of the house we’ve been remodeling over the years as well and it has a basement apartment and the main part of the house we just finished and looks really nice. I’m going to make some videos about each section of the house over time. We have a mortgage, we just refinanced to a 10 year mortgage with a 2.25% interest rate and pay roughly $2400 per month Thank you, I’m glad you like it!
