Thanks for the review, and I’m glad you like the LightFox! During the crowdstrike fiasco I was stuck on the tarmac for three hours after landing in vegas right before evo. During that time, my buddies and I booted up Tekken 8 on the steam deck and did one hell of a session. Portable gaming with the steam deck and LightFox is a great setup!

I don't have the arcade stick myself, but according to F500 Elite firmware update V1.15, Mar 2024, L3 button is first press and hold "turbo" and then press "select", and R3 is press and hold "turbo" and then "start". This is what is stated on the Mayflash website but someone who has the arcade stick will need to confirm if the update actually works as Mayflash has stated.

I think this was released after I did the recording, but yes, they added this functionality.

I forgot when I got the PXN 0082, but, while its a good entry lvl. I just hate the ball on the stick, idk why and idk how, but anytime I use it, the ball on the stick slowly unscrew itself. And that's just annoying in my opinion. I am planning on finding a different one, likely one larger. I know I originally got it for my PS4 to play Dragon Ball Fighters (since doing certain movements are a pain to do and using a fight stick is a learning curve). Though the set up to have it work on the PS4 is a pain. Again, will find a new one even though it'll cost more.

So it sounds like the Wind Engine and Lofree Ghosts are really comparable, right? Seems like Wind Engine is better with a 20 pack vs a Lofree 90 pack. I'm thinking the difference between the two has to be unnoticable. Is that all fair to say?

As a somewhat early adopter, and owner of both the G16 and M16, I'm a little annoyed how fast they're pumping out new leverless arcade controllers, and how similar most of them are. I guess it's good for people who are waiting for something that ticks all their boxes, but if you were ever trying to just have the newest/best one, it's kinda hopeless and a waste of money trying to keep up with them. If I'd known the M16 would come out so soon I might not have gotten the G16. Though, both have some value in that the G16 is very small, even smaller than a Flatbox Rev 5, and fits nicely in an inner pouch of my backpack. I leave the M16 on my desk at home. I'm still waiting on more people to make *much* bigger leverless controllers, something like the size of the Open-Frame1 with spaced out controls and really nice width for lap-play. I'd say all their controllers are probably pretty good if you're okay with the size/form factor. It's hard to DIY something cheaper, and at least when I built some Flatbox controllers they were lacking that USB Host port. That was the main reason I bought one initially, as it was a straight upgrade from my Flatbox. Also, I'd had issues with the printed buttoncaps on my Flatbox breaking off at the stem, so I was kinda interested in a controller with less jank caps. PLA+ just wasn't strong enough at the size the stems needed to be, and I couldn't print ABS at home. The popularization of cheap and DIY controllers + the open source GP2040-CE firmware is really really good for the FGC, I think, so I hope things continue the way they've been going on that front. I'd like to see Brook kind of go away, average controller price fall down, and get more people modding/upgrading their controllers (if needed) instead of buying a new one when a new console comes out. We're still fighting that battle against the auth system on PS4/PS5 and Xbox One/Series, but GP2040-CE + MagicBoots is still easier to swallow and more reasonable to me than a Brook adapter. I like that it doesn't need to go in the middle of the main connection and that it doesn't mess anything up even on devices where it's not needed. You can just leave it in all the time and it stays out of the way, in my experience. I've done some small-scale group Soulcalibur stuff with controllers like this and I like that you can just run some 10ft USB-C cables, give everyone their own controller, and pass the cable when someone new is playing, nothing has to be unplugged from the console itself so you don't even have to go up to it. Just plug in and go. People can sit all over the place in a big living room and still have a cable reach them easily enough. I like that you showed this hooked to a Steam Deck, I think that makes for a nice compact tournament setup that you can take with you easily. That's what I'm playing on most of the time, though usually docked to an external monitor also. Regarding issues with lap-play at this size, is anyone working on tackling this issue for all the small controllers we're getting lately? Maybe some sorta board you can set on your lap that the controller can then grip on to in the center. I'm also curious if anyone's figured out something for standing play, maybe some strap around your neck that would hold it up/flat in front of you around waist height.
@TheArcadeStickАй бұрын
There are indeed housing boards for Haute42 controllers that can work as size extenders. As for playing while standing, you may be interested in getting a standing desk with an adjustable height.

Me from the even further future here: I reworked this stick as a spare parts box by installing an Advanced Breakout Board 5.3 with passthough add on, my own wiring, Seimitsu Nobi Pro*, Crown 202 buttons, and a custom Astro City themed laser engraved and cut button panel. Also added a USB-C passthrough, , custom laser cut dustwasher, anodized fender washers for the top panel screws, LED strip light (just turns on when plugged in, nothing fancy), and a turbo button. It's been a nice stick to take out to my VSav locals; not overly big or heavy and performs well. * Had to install a 1/8" acrylic spacer layer between the bottom lid and the case to accommodate this. I'll likely post the SVG files on my site sometime; the button panel came out...okay but I'll likely redo it as parts didn't turn out the way I liked.

the biggest issues for me are the joystick mount bolts and the spaced out button layout. just looks uncomfortable to play on, they should have used their other case design that doesn't have the joystick mount bolts and look like it has much better hand room

Hi, my booter 5 dosent work for me. Can you show us how to setup the dongel? i did everything the instruction says but it dosent work
@ZevaerosАй бұрын
I probably need to make a video on this, but some troubleshooting steps: 1. Make sure the Booter5 is plugged in and lighting up. 2. Make sure to select PS4 mode (plug in while holding punch 2 or Y button by default). 3. Make sure you're using the 0.7.10 (or later) firmware. I have a how to upgrade video on my channel. 4. Go into webconfig and make sure under Settings > Input Mode Settings that you have "Host USB" selected for the Authentication Settings dropdown. Be sure to save afterward. 5. Make sure that under Configuration > Peripheral Mapping that USB Host is turned on and the pin settings are correct. Save if needed. Let me know what controller/board you're using and I may be able to provide more details.

The gate needs the rounded tabs to face inward. These slot into the microswitch holding them in place, the square outer tabs will then click into place holding the gate firmly. Its the same for the otto kit, as i also have the octagonal gate, and the rounded tab side is placed in first. Again, the function is to slot into the housing of the microswitch to hold it firmly in place.

5.6 (and I think 5.4?) added a few things, most notably the on-board passthrough port. This is the board I'd recommend to most folks. Reflex 2 added passthrough as well and it looks like a few option pins.

When I first seen the U16 I fell in love with it that I ordered one immediately. Then when I received it reality set in. It was very lightweight and the RGBs were hard to notice even though it came with crystal switches. I ended up taking out the crystal switches and putting them in my T16 and use the T16 to this day. The U16 just sits in the somewhat classy cardboard box set up it came in. Performs as you would expect it would but just wasn't for me. Great review and love the channel. Sometimes I rewatch older vids just to listen to the tech talk about sticks.
