For anybody new watching this video. Don’t leave your ash bucket out like that. It creates CO2. Get a covered bucket. Or empty the ash bucket after each use.

I have a Drolet Columbia which is smaller than yours and I feed it 3-4 hour but do not pack it full. If I do it seems to get too hot. My house is about 1100 sf and it does a decent job since the house is from the 70's -- I go thru 3-4 cord a year mixed maple and other wood -- I will be using mostly oak next year and will be looking forward to how much I use, Nice vid

I added secondary air burn tubes to may wood furnace when I rebuilt it. It makes twice the stove out of it. Smoke burns much hotter than the flames off the wood so you can turn the intake air way down and let the burn tubes heat the house. It saves alot of wood and don't need to clean the chimney during the winter at all because there is no creosote at all!

I love cattle panel hoophouses. I like that you've got a roofline ridge board. That has definitely helped mine hold up under snow loads in Colorado. And I noticed that you overlapped the cattle panels in some places. I find that overlapping them a bit really makes them stronger. Thanks for sharing your great greenhouse with us! Love it!

Thanks for the info, watching my hives inflammation fade day after day until they completely vanished was such a relief, I went with what I pointed out and within the first 10 days or so the urticaria was barely visible! I just go'ogled the latest by Shane Zormander and after 20 days my skin has never been healthier!

Matt did you shorten the freon tubes? Wish I'd known. Would have come down and given a hand. One at the wood mill and finally one here at the Coon Lake cabin. By the way I retro installed thermostats in all the ceiling fans. Costs about $40 per fan.

Lupus is actually the disorder responsible for this myth of the origin of vampirism, this is a subset of autoimmune disorders. Lupies must avoid garlic, as it can trigger a cytokine storm, gumlines recede due to secondary mucous membrane disorders like sjorgrens, and we're photosensitive.

I noticed that you started water bathing the first few batches and then you switched to Pressure Canning for the last batch. Is there is a reason why you did that? Why not just water bath the last batch? Just curious from a newbie canner. Thank you for the video!

Super newbie over here! When you say you rotate garden and green beans do you mean every other year or so you mean they alternate growing seasons?
@izc24442 ай бұрын
I don’t know them so I can’t presume to know for sure, but I’m pretty sure they would rotate in the same spot between growing seasons. Green beans usually take 2-2.5 months to produce the beans and even if they were planted in June, they would be able to harvest in August and September and be done well before October when the garlic is planted. This is about to be my first ever garlic season though so I’m not sure when the garlic would get harvested compared to when the green beans would be planted

The fact that you have that little heat-powered fan on top of your stove tells me you're not too swift. That little fan is a total waste of money. The fact that you located your stove in a corner next to two walls confirms that you're not too swift. Maybe a better location and wasn't possible, but locating the stove centrally will be more efficient, because heat will radiate out from all sides. BTW, a stove with cast iron tubes running through the firebox and connected to an external fan will put out that extra heat needed on extremely cold days. I've been using an Englander brand for more than 35 years, and it works like a charm. Going out for the day? Move coals to one side, load box, turn down air intake. Wood will burn from front to back. There's no flu damper: big mistake. Finally, it looks like standard flue pipe, which I used to use, too. However, creosote will eat through this material in less than 2 years, and you don't want to find yourself replacing it in the middle of winter. If you don't keep a careful eye on it, you'll find a weak peace will collapse. If you're not home or are sleeping, you're going to come home or wake up to a fire. I was lucky enough to find a stainless steel flu manufacturer who sold me 4 ft long pieces for a little less than I was buying 2 ft sections of steel pipe. Creosote is a major problem. Even wood that has been seasoned for a couple of years puts out creosote. On a warmer day, first I clean out the firebox, and starting at the highest point, I beat on opposite sides of each flu piece simultaneously with two pieces of 2 x 2. Make sure the flu damper is wide open so that creosote chunks do not get bottled up at the damper. BTW, a typical flu brush will not do an adequate job. If you get a flu fire inside standard flu pieces, you're going to be in deep $h!t!! So, familiarize yourself on how to stifel this kind of fire, or you will be dealing with a major problem. Keep a fire extinguisher handy.

The fan was a gift from my kids. Dick! You should educate yourself before commenting. It is a s.s. Pipe and it is in the center of the house. You clearly don’t know anything about the new stoves.
@jeffreywyant3497Ай бұрын
@mattsara2802 Pardon me, a-hole, I wasn't aware of that color in stainless steel. The stove may be in the center of the house, but it's positioned in the corner of the room, with two walls inhibiting the radiation of heat from two sides. Settle down, you'll live longer.

That's great for sure, but can only be used in areas where you don't need to walk yourself. I'm trying to figure out how to keep my chickens from wandering into the garage without always having to keep the garage door closed. If I put a motion sprinkler, then I would be the one getting nailed every time I walked out of the garage. Maybe a compressed air blaster could do a similar thing without soaking anything? My chickens are super stubborn though-- I hit them with a leaf blower so hard it practically lifts them off the ground, then they just turn around and come right back in.

Missed seeing you two, glad you’re back. We put in a mini split two years ago when we moved to this house and it was one of our best decisions. We were fortunate enough to have a friend in the heating and cooling business. Install it for us, and that saved a lot of headachesfor us. One thing to watch for is we have had insects getting that tube a couple times and plug it up. We are going to attach some sort of screen at the end to let it still drain but so nothing can get in.
