Oh my gosh! I raise Kunes too and when you said the lard was missing, I had heart palpitations!!! I'm so glad they had it and just didn't get it loaded for you. Would you be willing to share ages and hanging weights? Sara's getting a cow!!!!??! YAY!

Absolutely. Tiny was 88# and tater tot was 132. They were 1 year 8 months. After 1 year and 2 months they didn’t grow anymore so will be bringing them in every 14 months

@@mattsara2802 thank you so much! Good info. I'm surprised they didn't grow more after about 14 months. Do you think winter had anything to do with it?

The pigs grew so much since I’ve seen them. The boys too. It can be very hard to take pigs in to get butchered. I tried hard to not get attached. I’m so hungry for ham! So happy for the cow! If you milk it will be a great savings and raising a calf every year for butchering will be great. I prefer beef to pork. We had a friend who was a butcher and he came out to our farm and butchered 3 pigs. It was a bit too much dealing with the raw meat.

Yes they don’t stop growing either 😃

So excited to see a video from you guys, but wasn't expecting it to be about taking the pigs in. Thought that would have happened already. So nice of them to lend you the trailer. That had to make it easier. And neat that you have a boar now so you can do the breeding you had been talking about. It also has to be nice to be able to eat food that you know how it was raised and processed. How are the plants coming along that you seeded and had in the garage? I thought in one of Matt's videos I didn't see the trays in there anymore. Maybe I just missed them. I'm glad things are going well with the family! 💜

Hi Jenny. We have been putting it off for too long. It was worth it though. We have been extremely busy so we will have to buy lots of our plants this year. The ones in the garage are doing great and will be planting the onions soon. Hope you are doing well. We have been praying for you.

Congrats Sara on getting your cow. What kind of cow are you going with? For milking right? Homesteading with the zimmermans has lots of good tips for dairy cows.
