That’s painful to watch, might as well put it in high gear and plow over the chit and not worry about mulching it LMAO

Great machines, they work amazingly on dry soils, too heavy , with sinking risk on wet soils.

Man I love watching mulchers in action. Few months ago I got to watch a guy take one of these bad boys to a 10 acre heavily wooded property. No tree was left standing all ground to tooth picks. Was amazing. Awesome video man. Hope u make more.

Great machine. Been using them for 8 years now. With the right tooth type/ combination the FAE head is bad ass. Only thing I see missing here is guy is not using the machine to get production out of it properly,not using the hydraulic push bar. Figure on burning 6.9 to 8 gpm per hr depending on elevation. . So using good mastication skills to get production and good use of the unit are needed. Like everyone, it takes some time and a good teacher with patience.

This spot in Oklahoma came to a point with a drainage on both sides that were as deep as the machine. Had to pull the trees back on the machine to keep them out of the drainage. Been running all brands of machines and heads since 1994

What’s the name of the head? Would it work on an 870c?

Bruh, there's a hydraulic push bar on the thing for a reason. You'll up your productivity using it.

With the way this small point was the push bar wouldn't do anything but shove them off into the drainage.
@glenmel78

@@jeremykocar6772 if you keep a slight angle on the push bar to lean against the top of the tree, the top then falls away from the cab (ideally), and you start dropping the head into the base until you hit the ground, then roll forward to mulch the top. It's a safer, quicker method. Oh, and the points on the push bar help direct the fall of the tops if you need it to go a certain direction.

I understand now you were in limited, tight quarters and see why you did things the way you had to according to terrain. I've just had a couple of close calls with tops coming into the cab and nearly crushing me. I'd hate for anyone else to have to go through the same.
