Next time you could ofset the tabs away from the center of the lamp, this way you'll only look at the reflections of the light instead of the light source directly
@AngelaCreasonАй бұрын
Try using translucent vellum instead of tracing paper. You might like the result better.

Vellum would look amazing! I think rice paper would also look great with the textured surface.

This design file isn't for sale. The cardboard projects take a lot of time and finesse to get the right file that works for every laser cutter, cardboard types, etc. so I decided not to sell it. Thanks for asking!

Do you know what's that paper he's putting on the rope of the wood?
@LaserMadeProducts2 ай бұрын
To protect the wood, I use paper masking tape which is easy to stick on and peel off. It protects the surface from scorches and burns

What software did you use to create the 2D design and the 3D to fix it and make sure your design work correctly?
@LaserMadeProducts2 ай бұрын
I use a CAD software called Rhinoceros for all of my designs. Most CAD software should be able to create 3D models of the design you come up with, but there's a big learning curve for using the software
@vinkenwood82333 ай бұрын
Has everyone gone crazy with these subscriptions? The good old days when you could buy a lifetime license. Ten dollars a month for hobby users? Madness.
@LaserMadeProducts2 ай бұрын
I've been seeing a lot of people getting a subscription and I agree with you - I remember the good ol' days when you could just pay once and own a software for life. Unfortunately, that model seems to have disappeared. I'm seeing most people who create maps once in a while buy a 1 month subscription, design all the maps they want, and then close their subscription

Love your work! What laser cutter would your recommend to start with? I also do many stencils and having a laser cutter would be awesome
@LaserMadeProducts3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I started with a Glowforge basic, but I think there are lots of other companies that also have good laser cutters for a similar price range. I suggest doing some research and finding a good laser cutting community. You'll see all the different types of laser cutters that they're using and it'll be great to ask questions in their groups, forums, etc.

Hey! Love your video, this footage is amazing! We are currently in need of any laser content for an upcoming video we are creating, alongside our own footage. Would it be possible for us to use 3-4 seconds of this video, in one of our upcoming YT channel vids? We’d make sure to credit you fully in the description. Please let us know asap thanks! :)

Yes! You'd need to create each layer of the map so that it could be layered in this way.

Does anyone know the name of the circle part and how to create it in Fusion?

Looks great! What are the settings to achieve such a clean edge?
@LaserMadeProducts5 ай бұрын
It's different between every laser cutter, but I ran a few test cuts with different speeds. The trick is to find the balance between fast speeds and high power so your laser doesn't burn any part of the cardboard.

I am building one by hand (compass and scissors) and it will be an oval rather than a sphere as it's easier and requires less pieces. What resolution did you use, in other words, by how many mm does each layer differ in diameter. I was thinking between 5mm and 10mm would be enough. 10mm would be better again, as it will take less pieces. I am using all recycled (found) cardboard btw and the pattern will be completely random. I will not be pinning, just glueing.
