I know some people didn't like how samey the games felt, but ironically that's what made me really enjoy NSMBU Deluxe (base + Luigi). After playing only the Wii game for the longest time, I saw gameplay of U and because of how familiar it looked, I picked it up on the Switch. It gave me similar vibes to the Wii game, and I mean that in the best way possible. Games that gives me the same fun and feel but I don't have to replay the Wii game for the 50th time. It was the kind of game I couldn't put down because of how addictive and fun it was

Something I feel like not enough people talk about when it comes to the NSMB series is the movement. No platformer beats it. That’s largely thanks to it (at least originally) based off of super Mario 64, which in its own is a testament to how well that games movement holds up. Wonders movement was descent especially with the badges but it’s not as fluid and responsive as the new super games. If you haven’t played in a but and you’re wondering what I’m talking about look up any NSMB TAS video or speed run. Its special tech is pretty dope as well but I’m still learning it. PS: I’m now a 6 month member!!!

I'm glad you judged this game on its own merrets. Many people give this game a hard time for what came after it but at the time a lot of what was in this game was honestly phenomenal and I believe still holds up.

My full opinion. Id say this game is suoer mid in the franchise. Heres a ranking on the official games THAT IVE PLAYED 1) MKWii 2) MK7 3) MKDS 4) MK8 (this game) 5) MK64 6) SMK This game is lower on the list and here are many reasons why. First off, the customization. This game has a BUNCH of characters, and that is a bad thing. I dont understand why tyere is link, villagers, and inklings in here. Its called MARIO kart, not NINTENDO kart. MKWii does this the best for me. A perfect amount of characters along with an equal amount of each weight class (32 in total). This game goes NUTS with tye characters, and I do NOT like it. Its too many! Then we have karts, wheels, and gliders. Again, DS, Wii, and MKDD does this tye best since that game only has kart selection. Gliders KIND of make sense, but wheels make zero sense at all. Here come the tracks and 80% of them are bad or mid. There are only 3 nitro tracks I like, being Electrodrome, Toad Harbor, and Shy Guy Falls. Not even RAINBOW ROAD. How is a rainbow road mid? Now the retros are extremely mid. All of the good ones were mostly ruined in this game (Toads Turnpike, SNES Rainbow Road, etc.) The BCP does a better job with tracks like Choco Mountain, Wii Rainbow Road etc. But even THEN the BCP STOCKPILES the game with crappy tour tracks that arent memorable in any way (aside from Singapore Speedway, marry me). This video mentions how good this game looks, but theyre missing one key feature: COLOUR. Everything is satyrated and not colourful like EVERY OTHER GAME before it. MK8 went for realism, but we never wanted that. Take a look at Royal Raceway. It used to be super vibrant, now its saturated and uncolourful (and they removed the castle pathway im gonna kms) This games physics are easily the worst from the modern games. Drifting isnt satisfying as it used to be, bonking in walls is just AWFUL (i know from experoence cuz i suck at this game D:). We all know the best physics are in MK7, you cant deny it. Overall this game is super mid compared to the others. MK8 feels like a new step in Mario Kart, and not a good one imo. Whats your favourite Mario Kart,l? Mine is Wii, but I'm planning to get MKDD. Bruh I used to LOVE and played the heck out of Double Dash, but it was rented from Blockbuster so we couldn't keep it.

I turned 15 in December 1992. I got Super Mario Kart for my birthday that year. My best friend and I would stay up all night long racing each other on weekends and during the summer. We had the best time! Hard to believe I'll be 47 next month. And still play Mario Kart!

hearing about 64's non linearity, you really see how it makes the level design itself three dimensional as well, quite literally, because you can skip to the next thing and return to the prior later on

This games galaxies are a Sympthony of perfection

Probably in my top 5 favorite games of all time. Sure, FLUDD was a gimmick, but it effectively overhauled the experience of controlling Mario in a positive way. I too, love the creativity in this game! I love how much the gameplay was focused on a physics system of using water as a kinetic force.

This Mario Kart felt like it was designed for hardcore gamers. The only thing it didn't have was game-breaking shortcuts. In Mario Kart 64, you could jump to different parts of the track, but in this one, it just warped you back from whence you came.

Double Dash is honestly my least favorite Mario Kart game, but that only goes to show how much I adore the other entries, not that I hate this one. It still gets a solid 7/10 from me

This game is very chill and comforting

it’s so good i didn’t even see it as a 3d land sequel. although i love 3d land and it always has a special place in my heart, 3d world has so much of its own character and original content that i always saw it as its own thing, sure it was 3d too, but i saw the world to land as wii u to 3ds. the story in this game is way better, there’s just a lot more attention to detail in general it feels. but like i said, still 3d land i love too dearly

I actually really liked the blue I thought it was super fun and cool to use as a kid also the old 2d Mario games except for maybe the first super Mario bros are perfect control wise especially considering the era and time they came out in. They just have a different feel compared to newer entries so I feel like you can't blame the games themselves for not being used to the control of the older games

One thing i dont see touched on enough is the fact that the standards for getting 3 Stars in Mario Kart Wii were alot higher than they are now. In Mario Kart 8 you can just win every race and get 3 stars but in Wii you couldn't die or go off road too much and if you did you had to make it up by getting other characters with items like bananas and green shells.

The wii u is a little boring when you have one but your parents would only buy you mario kart and super mario but if you homebrew its its a beast of a masterpiece with pretendo reviving the miiverse app and games online services
