The end is probably the most they ever talked to the crowd.

Wow…these guys were sooo good…still listen to them today and I’m 62… to compare them to the Sex pistols does them an injustice…Pistols were an inigma because of the times…musically they were crap and still are crap…Cars rocked then and now ❤

There is humor woven into some of the songs in form of very subtle sound effects . They are so well placed that if your not paying attention you wouldn’t hear them . These guys were a milestone in rock and will be played for a long time to come

Ben and the Cars in particular were so underrated. I was a metal guy who had a brutal bad offer for a record deal in 1986 by their label, Elektra after the band I formed got on the 1986 New Music Seminars, “The Tape” which went to everyone who was anyone in the music industry. I played metal because I liked the energy and it was by far the best chance to get signed in to get in the eighties. But The Cars is timeless to me and I did play a lot of their material when I was between 8th grade and the first half of freshman year in a dance/wedding band where it stretched me to get into other styles and I had already been playing since I was in 2nd grade and this band I had all the other musicians that had 10 years on me. I may not have heard the Cars had it not been for the band that opened the music world to me. But Ben Orr was just a great singer and he played some very intricate bass lines but it didn’t take away from their commercial appeal. I just wish I had seen them live and I would have loved to talk music with Benjamin. I really did love this band. Not a weak link in the group. I pray you’re at peace Benjamin. I hope you know how much happiness you brought to so many people. My dad died from cancer at 69 and prior to falling off of a ladder in a Chicago winter and not being found for hours and having a broken hip, everything went wrong after that. I see Ben and I remember him and my dad. Man, this band was an awesome band with incredible vocals and the music was just so thought out. The time change in the verse of You’re Just What I Needed just was brilliant. God Bless Ben and now Rick too. Hard to believe they’re not here anymore.

It's a real shame, all the Beautiful Amazing people we have lost over the years (Like Benjamin) to cancer, when they could have possibly still been with us , had DOCTORS used Ivermectin, instead of all the BS chemo and crap, that NEVER worked! 😢

Hi. Makes us wonder, doesn’t it? How some live to 100 and others lives are cut way too short. But I won’t dive into my theories about it out of respect for this video and my love of The Cars.

Foreigner headlined and the Cars opened in Jacksonville Florida on the Car's first tour for the debut album. They were playing the debut on the radio in Jacksonville, a rough rock n roll town back then.Funny , they were accepted by the Southern Rock croud.

What would the 80s have been like without them? What would they have been without any of the band members? All of them contributed to make some more than great! RIP Ric, Ben. Thank you for my soundtrack of my 80s!

I was working in a lab in Laurel Maryland while going to college in Md. I was drawing this ladies blood and I was humming a Bowie song and she asked me “do you like to sing” and I said “yeah I have a small band here at school “and she replied “my son’s in a band too.” I said “really”? She said “yes, he plays keyboards for the Cars. His name is Greg. Have you heard of them!” True Story, I was floored.

I've never actually watched an interview of The Cars, despite them being one of my favorite bands of all time. What strikes me listening to them talk is how low-key and modest they all are. They don't exude that "big rock star" vibe that so many other artists do.

@5hamms510 I am so very sorry for your loss 🙏. I have retired from this channel but just wanted to reply to you. Pancreatic cancer is so brutal 😢. Thank you for your kind words. This year has not been without grief as my friend Julie passed away, she was Benjamin's fiancee and was at his side right to the end. I miss her but feel that she is reunited with her beloved Benjamin again. Warm regards , Tia

I live in England, and apart from the first two singles in the late 70s the Cars never had any airplay over here until Drive became their biggest hit during Live Aid ,However I stumbled across a couple of videos recently and on the back of them I can’t believe how great this band are , all their albums are amazing, it just took me 45 years to find them !!

After about 40 years of listening to these guys and seeing them live in 1989…it’s my first time watching an interview with them. They all have so much depth and emotion to them, and I notice the very humble attitude considering how major a group The Cars are. I feel like I knew Ric and Ben from hearing them for so long.

This band was a major staple in rock and roll history. They were all great musicians but Ric and Ben were incredible song writers. Elliot Easton is an incredible guitar player.
