Christians have spent like 2000 years burning artists and intellectuals at the stake and destroying the artistic traditions of Greece and Rome to take us back to the artistic stone age, so it's hardly surprising that Christians have a very strained relationship with art and culture

Well, because the belief in gods are silly. We live in the 21st-century. We have zero evidence for gods, but we have 100% evidence man has created gods. and could someone please show me God‘s love read the Bible there is no gods love in the Bible. God screws up at the beginning and Genesis and then screws up the whole way through the Old Testament the New Testament he has to kill his own son because we send and then in revelations he finally is so mad that he destroys the world. God has an IQ my shoe size.

Christians in media have never and will never understand that the medium is the message. That's why all their media comes across like terrible Cold War era Soviet propaganda.

Everything you mentioned in this video is true. These movies are poorly made, have a crooked agenda, don't understand what proof means, and depict some christians and all atheists wrong. Plus, I am an atheist, so I have no reason to watch them. Movies are for entertainment, and these movies are NOT entertaining.

I just wanna say, in spite of your opinion, I personally LOVED Disney’s Dinosaur growing up as a kid. Watched it so many times, used to even simulate migration scenarios with my dinosaur plastic toys because of that movie. So iconic.

My favourite all time action thriller movie in the year of early 2010s with final mid 2010s especially 2015 or 2016 was the last era of 2010s,The 2010s movie era was so cool and awesome with great video editing special effects with cool 3d visual special effects. But I'd prefer the most underrated hidden gem one besides the overrated hype popular 2010s action thriller movies of all time,my favourite all time underrated cool underrated 2010s action thriller movie is the red aka r.e.d and premium rush, the losers, dred or more than that.

They are poorly-written propaganda. Ironically some of the best pr4esentations of Christianity were written by people with a "side" agenda. Think of "Angels With Dirty Faces", which appeals largely to Irish- and Italian-Americans of the 1930's concerned about juvenile delinquency. The villain is a gangster seeming to do well.... and the adult hero is a Roman Catholic priest who leads troubled kids away from the lure of crime so that they can be respectable adults. Now that is a pro-Christian movie. To be sure, some of the writers were Jewish... so create the priest like as much like a beloved rabbi as necessary. Christians, if they are to prevail, will need to show more wisdom than zeal.

Well, the underlying problem imo is that creativity isn't really a value of Christianity 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's a lot of: you need to follow rules, obey orders and authority, never doubt, never question.

I like this-“These movies don't encourage you to think for yourself. They have to tell you what to think, in order to be a good Christian. They treat you like a child, having to hold your hand and explain to you what to think and how to feel.” Part of this comes because, deep down, these Christians don't really believe God is there. They don't believe he exists (which makes them the real atheists!). So, it falls to them to dole out the moral instruction, and since this is very important, they don't have time to waste on nonsense like “art, imagination, creativity and good storytelling.”

The problem with a lot of these kinds of films is that they are sermons disguised as entertainment. The film makers have an agenda, in which entertainment takes a very secondary position. Indeed, church people probably regard making a film to be entertaining, as well as morally instructional, to be self-indulgent and perhaps even sinful. This puts the filmmakers in a state of imagined moral superiority, imagining themselves to be soldiers fighting for the lives of those they were trying to save. Everything must be sublimated to getting people saved. But this preachiness doesn't go over well with those who do not share the same beliefs. They end up feeling that something is being shoved down their throat. The viewer doesn't see such a film to be preached at and may tend to resent it. They sense, on some level, that the filmmakers want them to agree with them and conform themselves to its image. Underneath everything is a cultural war-the film goer's culture is looked upon as something inferior that has to be destroyed. But such an attitude, if it belongs anywhere, belongs in a church, not in a theater where it would be nothing but one more expression of cultural imperialism. But if the filmmakers insist on continuing their ill-advised proselytizing, they need to realize they must change their tactics. They need to recognize that coming across as conquering crusaders is not an attractive image. What they need to do, instead, is approach their audience as lovers, who are trying to woo. But of course they won't do this, because this takes a romantic imagination, rather than a practical one. If they are going to be filmmakers, they must become filmmakers first, storytellers first, and they must do this because they love the medium-not because they only care about it as a tool of evangelism. The Christian Faith has always made its best inroads, when it acted out of love. C.S.Lewis is a prefect example of the approach that they should use. He was a storyteller, and he loved the stories he told. He did not see himself having to choose between his love of story and his love of his Faith. The two served the same purpose-indeed were indispensable to each other. And primarily, he worked from his own personal vision. That is what makes the things he created so successful. He did not create as part of a collective. Nor did he act like one who was ashamed of the gift God gave him, as all too many of Christian Filmmakers seem to be. Neither did he think, as some of these filmmakers seem to think, that to be a good Christian, he had to be addicted to mediocrity.

Well said! God bless. I agree. There's a definite lopsided bias going on here. I love Jesus and His Gospel is ultimately powerful but I don't want to switch off my reasoning to watch a movie with those biases, just like you said, where the Christians are saints and the atheists are evil and horrible. All. The. Time. That's ridiculous. I, for one, can say I'm worse than Paul when he said that he's the chief of sinners. But I know I'm going to heaven. I'd rather get there meeting people who were moved by the Gospel and if I had anything to do with it we could all rejoice together.

It seems that Christian "entertainment" of ANY kind is simply bad for all the reasons expressed here. Throughout the video, I kept saying to myself, OH! I have to comment 'this' or 'that', only to have it covered a moment later. On the whole, I can't stand Christian entertainment; it's artless, condescending, and preaches to a VERY lemming-ish choir. I've never heard of the movie 'Silence' and will most certainly watch it. Thank you. If you haven't seen 'The Mission', you should. It's another anomaly.
