Bought my first cameras back in the early 70's (Canons) and they have worn next to nothing compared to the X-series I bought in 2016 even after dragging my Canons around through producing over 100 TV show productions. It is especially the grippy outside of the lens barrels on my FujiFilm camera shows considerable wear compared to my Canon lens or other 3rd party lens I bought and have used since the 70's . Twice bottom plate screws simply worked loose on the body and needed replaced which I think shows a lack of build tolerance to have happed twice. Still I do enjoy the design my x-series camera and the back to useful basic design and dials I will likely soon purchase a T5 body along with a T6 if it looks like one will be coming out this year. But before that I will be selling an F1 body (tough but too heavy) and getting my A-1 battery door replaced (first repair since purchased in 79).

I have an XT 5 and I love it. The only place I disagree with you is AF. It may be improved from that of the XT 4 but it is by no means great. I choose to manual focus most of the time because of the AF inconsistencies and I actually enjoy doing so.
@mrwhisperTV8 күн бұрын
Thanks, I believe it really depends on your style of shooting for how the AF works. It works great for me and I felt a big improvement when I upgraded from the X-T4.

Oh, you have an xt-5. I have been wondering if my xt-4 with 50-140 lens attached will fit. I reckon that it should, according to the dimensions. Is this something you have been able to try?
@mrwhisperTV9 күн бұрын
I don't have that lens. All I can say is that due to the tough material of the bag, it's quite rigid. I doesnt have much room for flexibility. As I mentioned when buting the smaller size for my X100VI. I'd advise checking dimensions on the official site and make the appropriate measurements of your gear before deciding which size works best for your needs. I hope that helps.
@fnordianslippers9 күн бұрын
@ thanks for the response. I have compared the dimensions and I think it will just about fit, so I have ordered one. Fingers crossed. If it doesn’t fit, I will just have to order some smaller lenses, lol.

@fnordianslippers No problem, Good luck. I hope it fits and enjoy the bag!
@fnordianslippers5 күн бұрын
@ I now have the bag, and the camera lens combo does fit. Note that I use a low profile after-market lens hood instead of the monster that comes with the lens. This is with the dividers moved to the opposite ends, and the camera placed in the bag with the grip up. Also have a Peak Design capture clip on the base of the camera. I'm happy with this.

In January 2023, I jumped ship from Nikon world to the XT5. In addition to all of the things you state, it allowed me via a Fringer to bring my entire stable of cherrypicked Nikkor glass to the mirrorless realm. There was always the nagging doubt early on that buying into a system only two months after release was GAS idiocy. Except for the focus trackiing issues (which Fuji keeps "kaisening" out) I have no complaints. The feel, handling and vibe is so reminiscent of the great 35mm cameras I owned over the past 50 years. The XT5 makes getting out there and owning the scene a pleasure. For my part, the Smallrig cage was the first geegaw. So easy to build systems around that platform--and I really don't mind that it now looks like an RB67 with a grip handle. Check out some of my humble work with this and other cameras at papatango.photography

the moment you said xt5 autofocus is great, excellence. I realize why you become Fuji ambassador. It's a problematic all over the internet about fuji auto focus. especially xt5
@mrwhisperTV16 күн бұрын
I don't just say it, I've used the camera solidly for commercial and personal use since it came out, and it's only got better since then - for me and plenty of others on the Internet. Also, it depends heavily on what you like to shoot. For me and my style of work, the auto focus is spot on!
@kaiyinchung672714 күн бұрын
@mrwhisperTV On autofocus. U are talking about AF-S or AF-C, when I tried birding with the XT5(XF100-400 )AF-C, my XT5 did miss focus quite often, especially on animal detection (had to use back bottom focus plus manuel for still bird or 3d tracking for flying birds by luck lol ). Way lower hit rate than Z6iii (wildlife setup)/ A7cii (sold). End sold all my Fuji gear [just kept the x100vi for everyday carry]
@mrwhisperTV14 күн бұрын
@kaiyinchung6727 that's interesting to hear. I specialise in street photography and not on fast-moving targets. Hence, the AF-C works perfectly for me, even in lowlight.
@kaiyinchung672714 күн бұрын
@mrwhisperTV The animal detection is fine 80% of the time with cats /dogs , but with birds is like 40(worst day)~70%, on firmware 4.00 (where all the issues came, sometimes it off focus. this firmware turned the AFC to trash, lol.) When I do street or people, eye auto focus just needs to be off (if i shoot larger than F2.8) it could be focused on eyebrows or off focus[not focus in green box lol] , so i only use single point or AF-C with back bottom focus [ all subject detection needs to be off] I sold my XT5 right after the x-m5 announcement, because they didn't mention about the XT5 firmware update (only mentioned Xh2/2s, GFX something....) it was too late ...if they had mentioned all the x tran 5 camera ( same sensor same issue...), I would have kept the XT5 for the new firmware to test it out before deciding to sell it or not. Fuji's PR team is just really bad...😑

I upgraded from the XT3 to XT5 for the reasons you mentioned. Love both although I feel the XT5 build quality inferior to that of XT-3. Great video. Thanks.
@danmontesinos209416 күн бұрын
I also upgraded from the X-T3 to the 5, and I don’t feel that the built quality is inferior, in fact, I like it more. I keep seeing this everywhere but even when I showed it to my photography friend who used to positively comment on my X-T3, (but is a Sony user), he also felt the built quality of the X-T5 was greater. Maybe there are inconsistencies in the lineup? Mine is the silver version for context. I use it everyday and haven’t gotten a scratch on it, while I did have multiple scratches specially on the bottom plate of my T3.

Hi, All are nice shots. Could you please let me know how do you get the slight "Blueish" / very light "Greenish" colour in your shots? Is it by using any film simulation or adjusting on the Light Room? if so, how?

For all of my bags, even the ones with the side entry, I still carry the bag in my front especially in crowds. It's not just about people possibly taking advantage of an opportunity, but it's somewhat about protecting the contents from being hit or bumped physically if someone is being rowdy at an event. I am trying to decide between this and the Billingham. I have a larger side-tote, but I'm looking for something when I'm in public or even on a short hike at a local trailhead.

If you're just using the one lens with your camera body, that's when I use my billingham - Hadley digital. If I need an extra lens or a little more space, then I use this one. Cheers

3:56 This really resonates with me. I often would find a photo to be like 99% what I want, but that one small detail like “I wish their foot was just 1 foot to the left” or “I wish I would have just snapped a millisecond sooner” would cause me to doubt my photos, but then eventually I started seeing those same “imperfections” in the photos of those i like the best, and started realizing it’s more about the overall emotional response you get from the photo - and not every little micro detail. I realize that most people will just take a split second look, and If it doesn’t move them, then they just scroll on anyways. That’s helped my piece of mind. Realizing that it’s that split second feeling if a photo intrigues you or not, that’s what I’m trying more to capture now. Plus I realize I can always go back and try again if it’s that important - which mist often it isn’t after I have some time to think about it
@danthegeetarmanАй бұрын
My biggest challenge as a beginner is being able to get the compositions I want with a prime lens. I do the ‘zoom with my feet’ thing, but I’m usually disappointed with missing out on the exact compositions I could have got with my zoom lens due to things outside my control (traffic in a street, physical obstructions likes walls poles barriers etc). I think a lot of it is my particular city, which is not favorable for street photography - when it comes to how close the buildings and subjects are versed the sidewalk and the streets. With a prime lens, I often would have to stand in the middle of the street to get the composition I want, but with my zoom I can get the perfect composition just by adjusting the zoom, so that’s a better bet for me right now. I’ve decided I’m ok with just using a zoom, but the only downfall is street photography at night. My fastest zoom lens has a constant 2.8 (micro four third), which is just barely enough to use it for street. I eventually want to get the Leica 10-25mm 1.7 constant (mft) lens, but is way above my price range for now. So a little bit of ISO and noise is the only way to have a decent shutter speed at night right now
