Your low light work with the use of a slightly blue filter was what I found unique about your street photography. Especially how it played with against red object in the background. To me, it made your images even intriguing. This day time series with the use of space and shadows is another dynamic that is simply compelling.

Just found this channel. I have shot the same places the last time that I was in London back in 1999. I shot film back then and spent thousands on processing in the city so that I didn't have to worry about airport X-Rays fogging my film when returning to the States. Shooting digital Fujifilm now. Would love to return to London with the ease and reduced expense of just some SD cards and battery charging. Liked and subscribed!

that's so bizarre I've actually replied 3 times to your comment. Let’s try again. Most photos were taken in AF/C with zone focusing. Not my usual style but worked for my first POV as I had to shoot one handed with the X-T3, with my other filming on the gimbal. As I get better at using the two devices at once I can go back to my normal street settings - which changes depending on what scene up confronted with. Actually, it could be an idea for me to make a 'camera settings for street' video as that could be quite helpful. I hope this helps.

@@mrwhisperTV Thanks for the reply! I would love to see a video like that. It's something that I am still wrapping my head around for candid/fluid situations. Focus methods especially... Thanks again!

Recommend lens for portrait on xt3 ? And lens for street and landscape. I think maybe 16-55 f2.8

That's a great lens for those genres. However it won't be that good for low light if that's of any interest. Cheers

@@mrwhisperTV listen and tell me. I saw in the reviews on setting up the x-t3 camera. that many use a mechanical + electronic shutter. why use mechanical? what does it give?
@docgolden3 жыл бұрын
This is such an eye opening video. I'm new to this and am still learning the craft. Would it be possible to talk through the mechanics of how you took the shots at 9:06? I mean how do you set the right exposure and focus? Are you zone focusing? I have so much to learn! Would be so thankful if you can walk us through the process! (Am I asking for the recipe of the secret sauce? If this is an inappropriate question, I'll take down). Thanks in advance!!
@mrwhisperTV3 жыл бұрын
Hey Doug, thanks for watching. No worries at all. Those were taken in AF/C with zone focusing. I've put the camera settings under each photo, so together you should have everything you need. The rest is edited with my presets in Lightroom. Cheers 👊🏼

Nice video Bal! Are you using any sort of ND filter/diffusion filter to not blow out the highs but get that super nice “haze” effect?
@mrwhisperTV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, that's great. No ND filter used, I shoot slightly underexposed in such harsh lighting conditions and add the "haze" effect via a preset in Lightroom.

@@mrwhisperTV Or a tutorial video on how you edit would be nice to see. I'm guessing its just haze/dehaze or a gradient, but would be nice to see your techniques in a video.

The title Shadow Play sucked me in. Novice here and loving the daytime shadow images. I love that style of work, but find it kind of overwhelming to find it while out and about. Are you using center weighted metering or is it more just a function of the lighting/shadows in your scenes?
@mrwhisperTV2 жыл бұрын
Many thanks. Yes I'm using Centre weighted mtrg. And I still struggle with shadows in daylight. So I wouldn't worry, it takes time, patience and mostly practice. Gimme a night time scene anyday. Learning is all part of the process. Thanks again.

Very good. I miss going to London. A wonderful city. But as an EU citizen, I guess this will not be as much, with all the corona restrictions and the new strict visa rules. Seems so strange that you just can't go to the UK, just like the old days. Really hope your economy will not suffer to much, after you leaving "the rest of Europe". But will still enjoy all you good street photographers videos here on youtube. Take care!
@mrwhisperTV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much. I'm super sad we left the EU. and once Rona is out of the way, I'm hoping it's not too difficult or expensive to visit Europe moving forward.
