Same thing happened to my cousin in Barcelona. He carried 2 fake fat wallets with some notes and tracker inside, so that as soon as it detaches body, it sets alarm. He put one in back wallet and one in backpack pocket. He lured the pickpocket guys twice, got in a fake quarrel and stripped their watches off of their wrists.
