A pilot who recently was approved to land and park at this private airport had his aircraft seized because of corrupt tribe practices. look it up on youtube!

I actually saw that video. It was not this airport, this airport is public, he did fly to this airport before he landed at the one where they seized his aircraft. We overflew that runway and there was broken glass all over it.

This is something that you would practice as a student pilot. This looks to be a practice run. Normally you claim to a high altitude as this plane appears to be to practice this maneuver. This situation is practiced to understand how to recover from a takeoff and departure stall which is a deadly situation if you have no experience. I still practice these from time to time as well. But the goal is to not go into the spin but recover from the stall with minimal loss of altitude. Every student should experience a stall developing into a spin at some point in their training.

In rc planes including real planes you always stay “4 mistakes high” that way you can use 3 mistakes of altitude if you need to correct the first one. If you are one mistake high you’re not going to eat dinner with your family that night.

Just to add confusion N27246 id now on a United Airlines Boeing 737-824. Back in the good old days I rented a Cessna 182 from Double Eagle Aviation in Tucson for a trip to Davis Monthan. At that time you were allowed to land there. I deliberatly landed short to maximise the taxi so my friends in the back could get some great pictures. Then I maximised the taxi out for the return flight. No problem. Today I don't think such a trip would be allowed.

N131FF is a C.130A so probably to old to be anything other that scrap. It was at Nice-Cote d,Azur in the south of France on Fire fighting duties. Tail code 81. until withdrawn fron use on 19 March 2014.

What happens if you let the stall continue? Will the spin continue? Basically I would like to know the limitation of such an aircraft? I would test it but in an emergency it would be good to know.

gnome moniker works so well, in fantasy they design things wonky.. I can just see one designing an engine where they accidentally mount the engine backwards, plane from the prop shaft and the prop from the engine mount ;)

Rule #1 when recovering from spins: power off, apply opposite rudder and let the joke go, HANDS FREE and only after the spin has been stopped, put your hands again on the joke and reapply power. You did the procedure incorrectly.

Couple of thoughts from a 25+ year A&P... I use a spray bottle with isopropyl alcohol mixed 50/50 with water to degrease afterwards. I also check and clean/re-oil the air filter during an oil change. I leave the upper aft dzus fastener on each side and unlock all others, then remove one side then the other to prevent the cowling from sag during removal. Lastly, after it is all done and engine cooled, I would personally inspect the entire engine with a good light looking for leaks, cracks, anything loose, etc. Then spray entire engine with a good degreaser (purple stuff diluted 50/50 with water works well. No Simple Green!) then flush out with water. Drip dry then do one more engine run and look over one last time. Clean is your friend! Freshly degreased then engine run will show active leaks or seeps. Overall great video!!!

You learn by mistakes. This is a textbook example of how to purposely spin a C172/C152. Usually those planes don’t usually spin easily unless you add a few extra steps. Obviously they are seen here…but not for the right reasons. They added power before pushing the nose down to break the stall. Always break the stall first. Get airspeed, slowly add power and recover from the dive once you get past 60 knots approx. Adding power before may put you into a spin situation. Secondly. The student probably didn’t keep the ball centered by adding progressively more right rudder as the plane slows down. Uncoordinated flight will give you a wing drop which will develop into a spin. And last but not least, adding aileron to counter the spin will aggravate the spin. I learned the hard way. Forget the ailerons. The slower you are, the less effective they become. Use your rudder to keep directional control.

As CFI who provides spin training, I am SO GRATEFUL for this video. I can explain inadvertent spin entries all day long and foot stomp “do not use the ailerons to bring up a dropping wing” but that doesn’t carry near the weight of an actual real life example. I show this video when I give spin instruction. Classic. Thank you for posting!
