Shemar OWNED this scene. Gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes every time

It's as if the NSPCC (British child safety charity) made a public information film if in anime form? They did do an ad featuring violent child abuse in the early 2000s. Truly disturbing scene to where I refused to watch the ELFEN for a fair few weeks after this.

One of the most powerful moments in television history, I’m not even joking. What Derek said about how when 1 person steps up and speaks out that the monsters aren’t invincible anymore, is so true, the tragedy is that it takes too long.

Everybody talks about how horrible the puppy scene is, but imo this is 10x worse. To me it's the saddest (and unfortunately most relatable) scene in the show.

Seeing Mayu having to runaway from her own home is just so heartbreaking. She has no where to go, no one to protect her, shelter her, nothing. She was all alone in a cold unforgiving, unwanted world.

Mayu has my deepest sympathies in this series. I too have a horrible mother who chose some dick over her kids. Disgusting! I hate Mayu's mother. Who the fuck does she think she is? It's just sick! She lets some scumbag into her home that molests her child and instead of protecting her, she slaps her daughter out of jealousy? That bitch deserves a visit from Lucy. Who would tear her to bits until she's nothing. I fucking hate mothers like this! They don't belong.

The scene is so powerful to me in 3 ways. One, Shemar's acting is so amazing and deep. Two, the scene is almost cathartic to people who have been sexually abused because I think a lot of Us wish that we could have the courage or had the chance to confront our abuser. Three, the way the cop realized that his whole view of Derek his entire life was completely wrong

The way je fought the guys and kept justifying himself, trying point out all the "good" he's done. Then asking Derek to help him. He really felt he had the right to do what he did. He was scared and grasping at straws because he knew he was wrong. Total asshole.

Derek has a lot of self control, some people would have beaten him to a pulp before the cops arrived but the justice is that he pays for his crimes, I how ever think that the only justice people like that should get is at the end of a barrel.
