As a victim of narcissistic abuse up until now as a 26 year old man I can highly relate to mayu here because my mom's old boyfriend used to physically and mentally Especially sexually abuse me when it almost drove me to suicide and my mom did absolutely nothing to stop it but keep defending him because she was desperate and she still is thankfully he's gone but sadly all the scars I'm still dealing with Even today still hunts me Permanently while my mom still abuses me ruining my life with my hopes and dreams forever and there’s nothing I can do about it. 😔

Mayu did the right thing running away from home and from that jerk of a stepdad when she couldn't take it anymore ☹️ and her mom never helped her or anything,she was just jealous of mayu,and slapped her. she never apologized to her after that. and after this flashback scene. mayu never sees or even mentions her parents ever again. at least at the end of this anime, mayu is happy again and goes to school.
