Great video honesty I'm not sure how much of it I understood but I don't know what I expected when I've never really studied anything like this before. I just was looking at my pocket watch and watch-ing it turn then thought "huh wonder how that works" and pressed the first video I saw I'm certainly interested in mechanics but can't commit myself to do a deep dive yet Maybe eventually I'll circle back to learn more

Such a great intellectual exercise. This gets me thinking how to combine clocks and locks and the movie Thirteen Ghosts where the whole house is like one big mechanical thing.

After fine tuning and realigning the gears my Rokr clock runs very well...l superglued critical points to beef it up a bit...

I never noticed the transparent tool when building this. Why did they make it transparent? They should have made it obvious.

Very flimsy gears and will not stay square. Have fun putting it together but that is the end of it!! Will not run! Spring is only good for 4 to 5 hours IF you get it to run!

I think you should have used glue, but maybe not how you expected. When you put rapid glue on, and between the teeth of ALL gears, and than sand them smooth, they will be a lot harder, which reduces the friction between them a big lot. Especially this goes for the escapement... Nice vid anyway!

I have one of these kits, but have not started making the clock yet. How long did it take you to build yours?

Thank you so much, I've always wanted to learn about clock mechanisms. What a great introduction. I'll be checking out that BHI intro course now.

Greetings from Canada! I started watching your videos today after downloading the BHI DLC sample lesson. I was very nervous about continuing, but after watching your first video I got the inspiration to continue. Why are you not making any new content?? I hope you are doing well. Would really like to know how things are going. Are you still into horology, or have you moved on to something else?

Just finished mine and it's ticking away beside me. It's excellent! It's a bit confusing that that are two pinions on the back of the hour wheel that don't mesh with anything. I assume this is intentional as the clock is running fine and there's no way of adjusting the spacers so they'd mesh with anything else anyway. Strange!

The soap should be borax, like the laundry soap, it helps prevent oxidation but it usually comes in powder form so I can see how a paste would be necessary. Heat the metal until it is no longer magnetic then quench. Look up blacksmithing/knife making videos for a lot more in depth knowledge.
