You have keen ears!!! Was wondering if anyone would pick that up, definitely on the list for retrospectives. Hope all is well!

A bit of IIRC from me: • In _Call of Pripyat,_ the Stingray units crash not because the narrative skips the government having anomaly-detecting devices, but because the anomaly maps they had were outdated after Strelok's first CNPP expedition forced an Emission from C-Con, and anomalies rearranged their locations prior to Operation Fairway. • The Mercenaries are heavily-implied to be backed, in funding and equipment, by Western private and government interests, explaining why they have NATO equipment. • Freedom's belief that The Zone should be open is that they see it as the last, true frontier for human exploration and liberty, they also see it as a paradise for spiritual discovery too. • Duty's ultimate goal *is* to destroy The Zone, seeing it as an abomination. Controlling it is the first step to destroying it for them. • Bandits are heavily-implied to have connections to the Russian Mafia(s), and each group is generally organized along those lines. • Renegades were particularly depraved even by Bandit standards, and were just loosely-affiliated groups of sadistic crazies who found it more convenient to team up to kill everyone weaker than themselves, than to kill each other. • Loners/Free Stalkers are literally just that: the individuals who are deemed such have no affiliation to any faction, and are very diverse in beliefs and morality. Whatever leadership they have is of voluntary cooperation with one another. • The Clear Sky faction was purely research-oriented and disinterested in participating in Faction conflicts. Their armed contigent was made up of volunteering or the occasional hired-on Loners; they had little funds nor equipment for their armed contigent to do more than guard their base against the Renegades, and, hitherto Scar's involvement, stuck to paying Loners for artifact-finding and anomaly exploration on their behalf.

Our own StarCraft experiences? Very well. Back in high school, I used to have a pirated version of StarCraft with no cinematics or voice acting, and I had an absolutely brilliant idea to install it on a pendrive. Turns out if you do that, you just need to update the register the first time you plug it into a new computer and it runs *anywhere*. I took it to school and played the campaigns on school computers when no one was looking. Of course, my school friends quickly realized what I had and had me share it with them, and we played multiplayer matches at school together. It was awesome. Of course, nowadays, having my own income and being able to afford games, I own both StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft 2 with all of the expansions. But I still look back fondly on those days of playing LAN matches with StarCraft ran from a pendrive. You couldn't do that anymore with all the company launchers and online synchronization that modern games have.

I truly appreciate you sharing this with us! This is the beauty of gaming, and shared experiences. I love the "[now] having my own income.." its truly remarkable, and i thank my parents for making me save up for games back then, since now, I understand what it means to have the means, and know I can't go hog wild lol. Wishing you the best, and absolutely, the days of LAN and couch co-op seem dead. I'm hoping one day we can get back to interactivity

Just came here from your SC+BW Retrospective. Looking forward to this, HotS and LotV. On why they kept trusting Kerrigan in BW? Well she's an unknown after the Overmind (which is believed to be the only reason she killed at the time) dead. She's an known unknown. The UED is an unknown unknown who basically started fighting everybody, and winning.

@Dog.Dad.Studios really loving your content so no problem at all. Glad you got some logic from what I said! Not to seem bossy or anything but do you have any interest in doing a retrospect into Fallout 1 and 2? I feel like your approach and heavier details could help people digest the games that many can't seem to get into due to age. Edit: though thinking about it. It may not be loved by the algorithm, so I'd get not wanting to.
@Dog.Dad.StudiosКүн бұрын
@ I truly appreciate that! Absolutely I would love to, my only concern is with recording older games, but I’ll figure something out. I love both games a lot, and would be honored to go into them, especially fallout 1. I don’t think about the algo too much, and I have some niche retrospectives coming up for the new year. And not bossy at all, I enjoy the inquiry! The only obstacle is time itself, but that’s part of the journey. Wishing you the best and talk soon!

Howdy thanks for watching! I’ve gotten that response from a couple of viewers. What sound system are you using? I just watched a short bit on my iPhone at half volume and could hear it, but that’s on my end. I believe the discrepancy is due to the different software I used between video and non video. I do test on Sony studio headphones, Sonos surround and my iPhone, and understand that a small portion of others have described the same thing as you. Thanks for taking the time, Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

@@Dog.Dad.Studios I think its the fact that you hear a couple people talk about it and then you can just sort of stumble into it yourself but not before realizing your stuck in some kind of huge anomaly loop. I just remember loving how I actually felt like I found and solved it myself, not because it was an objective. Only to come back and have that one dude who takes credit for everything you do take credit for it. Very immersive.

As much as I love the game, the constant 3 bloodsuckers random spawns make this a 0/10. You learn to engage every enemy. You learn to conserve resources. Exploring the map is fun. Quite unfortunate the random spawns ruin the game for me. I don't even get constant crashes.
@Dog.Dad.Studios3 күн бұрын
I know it sucks to say, but have you tried just running? That’s what I had to do before the patches. No excuse for the game. Have you tried with the new patches? I’m replaying now, hoping they fixed it. I agree very annoying to deal with
@NetNeelsie3 күн бұрын
@Dog.Dad.Studios Yes, so I usually try to get like a car or something to stand on. If I can't get a vantage point I just run away. I have the game fully patched on linux and windows.

I think people get really brutal on Kerrigan and HOTS and her overarching role in the franchise. That being said Kerrigan being mad at Minsk and having a revenge mission makes sense to me when you think about how he literally ruined her life. I get the Kerrigan and Jim romance feels weird because of how little time they spend together before she gets infested; but if you disregard that and act like they where In engaged or something then the love story fits a lot better and makes everything make more sense. I played StarCraft II before one so I just assumed they had been in love and had no problem with that part of the story. I think StarCraft II is a good story I just think some of the plot lines weren’t set up enough in broodwar. And most of my complaints can be solved with a ret con of the two being long time associates. I like that Kerrigan makes you feel powerful after all it makes sense she’s like a demigod empowered by a planet and a whole lot of essence. If you want a faceless Zerg playing ladder seems like a good way to do so or just use Kerrigan minimally. Playing HOTS does make me feel like I am ruling a species though and I have never played a game that replicates the cool feeling of ruling the swarm. Amons crap though and Kerrigans constant Pokémon evolutions do feel a little silly as she has power ups with the purpose of destroying each big bad. I do love how bloodthirsty they make her; it’s nice to see a character in her position that just has a goal and uses the army at her command to achieve it. She feels like a villain who you are just in the perspective of which makes sense given she’s on a warpath. Overall HOTS is my favorite because I like the Zerg and think Kerrigan is coolio, after comes wings, the legacy. And the epilogue is in the trash can. I feel no real way about the nova missions they were cool I guess. I like my aliens though; and the Zerg are my favorite aliens in fiction.

If you ask me, Gwyn is not necessarily a villain. He wants to kill you because he is hollow. What makes him special is how disappointing he is for a final boss. You would expect something badass and you can just parry him a few times. Don't get me wrong, I do understand that he was made to be easy on purpose and I do like it. Great video overall, it's insane that you can make a top 100 video like this. I couldn't even mention 100 villains, and you picked 100 out of way more.
