This song would fit perfectly in a video about the Andrea Gail of the movie Perfect Storm who already watched knows about what I'm talking about.

Is that what he said? Oh, I could kiss you! I was getting so frustrated only understanding the 'carnival of rust' part, linking back to the album and/or the song, but I never quite caught the first part, no matter how much I tuned up the volume! Thanks a bunch! :D

I never could either to be honest, not until I heard it in the unplugged version where it's much more clear. :P

No prob. I love their references like this, like at the end of Choice Millionaire when you hear Marko speak lines from Dying to Live verbatim, except the last bit is changed from "to run away and let your feelings leave you undefined" into "to run away and leave your feelings in the city lights."
@pieniaurinko
@pieniaurinko 7 жыл бұрын
Still don't own Twilight Theatre and haven't listened to Dying to Live yet, but yeah, I love those connections, too! :) Btw, do you by chance know how the end of Illusion&Dreams connects to anything? The part about Silence, Peace and Freedom?

I was completely wrong before. It's nothing to do with religion. This is about a broken man, completely wrecked by the ill effects of love gone wrong - descending into madness and villainy in a dessolate wasteland. Hence The Happy Song coming next - that's him really accepting his new course - to become an utter git.

+chiffmonkey Could you elaborate? I thought this was a song that praises the special forces
@chiffmonkey
@chiffmonkey 8 жыл бұрын
You'd have to listen to the album as a whole to get it. Starts off all about incredible love that's running out of time, then descends into obsession and stalking, as he clings to the last shreds of a conscience. Now he's seeing it might be better without it. Maybe... Maybe he's a psycho.

And thus we move from the Jeremiah Peacekeeper trilogy to the Hamartia trilogy. This is the birth of Hamartia.
@chiffmonkey
@chiffmonkey 8 жыл бұрын
This album is the story of the fall of Jeremiah Peacekeeper - a good person who is destroyed by love, turns into a violent psychotic bastard, and ends up turning into Hamartia (the jester). Yes. You see PotF's catalogue is all one (looped) story.

How about the other albums like Twilight Theatre, Jealous Gods and Revolution Roulette? Are they connected?
@chiffmonkey
@chiffmonkey 8 жыл бұрын
All 7 albums (yes Clearview included judging by Drama for Life, Marko's comments and some of the track names), plus the tracks No End, No Beginning, Can You Hear Me? and Signs of Life (not to be confused with the album). Carnival of Rust is your best starting point for working out the links: "When the world is burning, don't walk away" - that's Daze. "Where enough is not the same it was before" - that's More. (Vid) "Break for Freedom" - that's Revolution Roulette. (Vid) "House of Dusk" - that's Twilight Theater. (Vid & Cover) Red and White swirl - that's the looped duality between Jeremiah Peacekeeper and Hamartia, see Alchemy Vol 1 cover. (Vid) Pause about 0:25. Then open Choice Millionaire in another tab and pause about 3:14. Note that the woman in Choice Millionaire just removed a gas mask. The Hopecatcher description on the PotF Webshop says "In the music video the necklace represents a tiny piece of a parallel universe, which makes you think of the possibility of a better world." Now open Cradled in Love and skip to about 3:18. She puts the necklace on and suddenly Jeremiah is in the room with her.
