The British audience is a bit dull, they didn't laugh at her wig jokes! She's adorable and American!! 🎉

Mrs Jennings (Elizabeth Spriggs) and Sir John Middleton (Robert Hardy)'s scene in S & S in which they can't stop laughing is a fantastic. No matter how many times I've seen it - it just floors me. If you need cheering up at all - put on S & S and skip to the two of them musing about the mysterious EF. On the flip side - need a cry or you heart warming up... the wonderful moment where a recovered Marianne thanks Colonel Brandon ( the late great Alan Rickman) from her sick bed. His face when she finally acknowledges him. I'm gonna lose it typing this...

This has to be a first and to date only thing - She wins the BAFTA playing a part for which she won an Oscar for adapting. Fantastic. And her speeches are always delightful. Check out her Golden Globe speech when she won for Screenplay. It's a treat

She reminds me of a young Diana Dors here. I see parallels between them.

Wow what a year ian Richardson in the final cut, but also Colin firth and Benjamin whithrow in same category. Those are the parts that have lived on. Robbie coultrane and Robert Lindley I couldn't even tell you what they were in. And Emma Thompson adapted and stared in the film sense and sensibility!

I dig that Mira Sorvino a month after her Oscar win and 3 months after her Golden Globe, still flew over to attend the BAFTAs. This was before it was held prior to the Oscars and prior to the internet being common to report BAFTA results to Americans. This shows how significant BAFTA really is as the UK Oscar equivalent. If the Oscars were considered solely tops, there would have been no need for her to attend. She's already the Oscar and Golden Globe winner before they even announced the winner.

Kate's hair is strawberry blonde here because she was starting to go red for her Titanic character.
@orphicuranus6 ай бұрын
No ! Because she was just started in Hamlet. She would go full red in 1997 for Titanic :)
@DeepScreenAnalysis6 ай бұрын
@@orphicuranus the process of going deep red is not instant though, you need to build up to the right shade. She wore a wig in Hamlet.

I watched the series with my mother. I am so happy we both enjoyed it so mutch. She has past away in 2008. But this will always be such a beautiful memory. It was on tv last night on a remote channel in the Netherlands. I had some candles on and enjoyed every minute every minute of it. Excellent cast.

I used to put it on the dvd player inbour house for my own mother Nourah. She passed on in 2013. She really loved the serial. Lately I've really fallen in love with it myself. I watched it again recently and watch many videos on here about it. Wonderful story, acting and production.
