I’m so excited for you that you’re reading and enjoying the realm of the elderlings! I discovered Robin Hobb’s books when I was 16 and my mind was blown. I read all 19 books every 2 years just to spend time with Fitz and the Fool again. Fitz is the kind of character who stays with you, and I cannot express how much I adore the way this entire series unfolds. I hope you keep loving it ❤

I was thinking something similar the other day after going on an audiobook binge of self-help books (trying to pull myself out of burnout). So much of it is just recycling the same principles and very little takes personal circumstances into account. So many times I listened to a tip and thought ‘I have a very valid reason for why that won’t work’ with no alternative to that tip ready to go. I think you’re right, that holistic living and prioritizing physical and mental health is so much more important than any work based productivity.

i've had the same experience SO many times! i find it so aggravating when people give tips that are ignore most peoples' experience, for example, 'work out in the middle of the day' or, 'subscribe to these food delivery services that are super convenient (but also very expensive).' most people just can't do that. i hope the burnout recovery is going smoothly and you're feeling happy, healthy and supported!

I feel you deserve more subs ❤ I'm an author going through what I think is the cynicism stage right now, and am trying to pull myself out of it.
@E.Cerulean7 ай бұрын
What is that?
@apersonintheworld37 ай бұрын
omg thank you so much! cynicism really is such a tough stage. whenever i've been in it, it feels akin to depression - you don't feel like you're seeing the world in a healthy or in your normal way. it's really easy to get lost in it. however, i think it's SO good you recognize that this isn't normal for you. and also-congrats on your creative project! i think creatives are particularly vulnerable to burnout. when you're open and ready, i'd love to hear how your work is going!

@@apersonintheworld3Thank you lovely, that's so kind of you. I'm working on pulling myself out of it by slowly introducing self-care habits, like going for walks, healthier foods, regularly scheduled alone-time (really hard to do with 2 young kids though lol) I'm a romcom author, so I try to inject fun and spice into everything I write. I have a book out already called Apparently, I'm A Bitch, and another coming in April called Apparently, I'm Torture. So far, my cynicism hasn't stopped me from enjoying the writing, but it has put a big block on organically marketing my books on social media. I'm trying to find ways to enjoy that process again, but all I want to do is sit in my pjs all day, hair all frizzy, with a bucket of caffeine, and write. Not realistic but it's exactly what I'm doing as I type this message to you lol.

omg, i feel that! when i feel burnt out, i just want to lay on my couch with a bag of hot cheetos, rewatching old episodes of svu. i will check your books out! :)

i love this. an important topic and refreshing way of looking at the relationships around us. i find that it's too easy to slip away from friendships than it is to connect. especially with social media. i tend to think that there is still connection with others when u "like" their posts or see what theyre up to. but maintaining meaningful relationships with ppl that u care about is a lost skill. thank u for bringing that back
@apersonintheworld37 ай бұрын
oh my gosh, thank you for the incredibly thoughtful comment. i agree with you, social media has allowed me to feel connected to friends who are far away or who i don't get to see as frequently due to the season of life we're in. it's an incredibly useful tool in building and maintaining relationships, so long as it's not the only tool we know how to use!

hi! thanks so much :) i just use the sony zv-i. i'm a beginner to vlogging and it's worked out great for me. because it's so light and intuitive. my only qualm with it is that battery life is pretty short, so i would recommend buying an extra battery if you're considering it.

This might be a silly question, but does the mustard bath stain your bathtub or leave residue? I want to try it!
@apersonintheworld32 жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't stain! It can leave a little residue if you just drain and walk away, but I don't think much more than any other bath salt. I think so long as you make sure to quickly rinse the tub after you use it, you'll be good.
