I'm staying right here! I haven't the slightest interest in fairs! That's because you've never been to one. You can creep out late at night and find a fantastic banquet. A fair is a veritable smorgasbord-orgasbord-orgasbord After the crowd's have ceased Each night, when the lights go out, it can be found, on the ground, all around Oh, what a ratly feast Why, a fair has enough disgusting leftover food to satisfy a whole army of rats! Is this true? Is this appetizing yarn of yours true? Will I find melon rinds and bits of hot dogs Cookie crumbs and rotten cotton candy Melted ice cream, mustard dripplings Moldy goodies everywhere Yes, yes Lots of popcorn, apple cores Banana peels and soggy sandwiches And gobs of gorgeous gook to gobble at the fair Yes, yes, yes I like high living. What you say tempts me. It's true. Go to the fair, Templeton. You will find that it will surpass your wildest dreams! You mean tin cans with particle tuna fish sticking to them? Greasy paper bags stuffed with rotten eggs? Yep, yep, yep! True, true, true! That's enough! Don't tell me anymore! I'm going! A fair is a veritable smorgasbord-orgasbord-orgasbord After the gates are shut Each night, when the lights go out, it can be found, on the ground, all around That's where a rat can glut, glut, glut, glut! LOL!

No child, myself included, saw this film in the 70s and walked away from it unchanged. It was a hard lesson but an important one. I was made better for it. Our entire generation was.

The very first movie I ever saw in a theater, with both my mom and dad. I was 5. I cried at the sad ending, and I think they felt bad, so we went to the pet store and bought a black and white rat and named him Templeton. This trailer brings it all back like it was yesterday. Great memories of a simpler time.

I remember this American animated film from the early 1970s all right. I watched it on telly when I was younger. I know it was produced by Hanna-Barbera who were most famous for The Flintstones,The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo and Yogi Bear). Despite Hanna-Barbera library being owned by Warner Bros., I think Paramount, a subsidiary of Paramount Global (former names: Viacom and ViacomCBS) stills owns the right of this 1970s animated film. Anyway I am still watching and I still like it as well.

Today is the 50th anniversary of the 1973 film charlotte's Web and that film has been a great classic over the years, it even aired on TV like on boomerang, maybe cartoon network and before those channels, Disney Channel played that film before the others during the 1990s.

You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this. In 1973 I was 18 and took my 7 year old brother to see it. Paul Lynde as Templeton really injects the adult humor into it. Legendary cast for the voices.
