Everyone talks about the sax. For me the Hugh Burns guitar solo is the icing on the cake that makes a good song a classic. More than once ive screamed at the radio as an idiot of a DJ either talks over the guitar solo or fades it out early to go to the news. Philistine!

Love it! What performances this from? It sounds like a live version, but this solo is much closer in performance to the original recording then the one performed on the live album.

I think the song itself is in G. I see the first part of guitar solo as being played using D Mixolydian. Near the end of the solo, it sounds like a short run in Bb minor before ending back in G. Thanks!

Ferguson's playing on this reminded me a lot of Elliot Easton from The Cars. Melodic, bendy overdriven solos with a bit of country influence.
