Jeff Baxter's guitar solo from Rikki Don't Lose That Number with tab. The solo is played once at normal speed and again at slow speed. I got so many requests for this. Thank you all for being so patient. Long live the Skunk!

Man, if only all tutorials were like this... no talking, only demonstrating and with tab. Bravo!
@RockingAOTSwirled4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I watched one the other day. The bloke sat there talking crap for nearly 5 minutes before even played a note.
@Geetar489 ай бұрын
Totally agree - I don't need to be shown how to play guitar, I just want to save the time and hassle of trying to figure out how to play it myself, this tutorial saved me tons of time and it was succinct, accurate and to the point!

one of the most tender emotional rock solos ever played ... the resolution at the end is PERFECT.

Perfect lesson. Normal speed and slow is more than enough. Don't need the endless waffle that so many others indulge in when presenting a lesson.

I agree with Tan. ("you put your index on the 12th blahblah"). And the Rammstein t-shirt is a nice touch to this delicate tune ;-)

Oh my God!! Thank You!! If you need someone to tell you which fret/finger/string/note/etc, the lesson at hand is beyond you anyway. I've said it before: If you're capable of learning whatever solo is being taught, you don't need all that wasted instruction.
@johnrowland27736 жыл бұрын
yep, that's what that whole pause/rewind thing at the bottom is for.

Thanks. I am always amazed when I think about the player who sits down and has the skill and creativity to come up with this solo originally. Mind boggling.

You are welcome! I enjoy playing Jeff Baxter's stuff. Glad to hear so many appreciate his work.

Very, very nice! I remember learning this solo when the song first came out, but not having any idea of what I was doing. I never got a chance to play it live, so it went away. It was only later than I figured out that Jeff was "playing over the changes", which was a foreign idea to me at the time the song was released. So it's time for me to learn it again, as I have it in a setlist coming up in another week. This tutorial was great, thanks!

I just recently sat in with a band that does this tune, and I loved it so much I'm working it into my own set. I have the chords (and the weird little riff at the end of the verse!) but this solo is so iconic and so sweet I'm going to try to get it just right, as opposed to just close enough as I usually do. Thank you so much for posting.

Fantastic video! Kevin, it took me a while to get that part down at 1:05, especially at the end. I think there's a couple of back to back pull-offs he's doing there before he hits the last note. The part at 1:42 is also really tough to get the timing, but again it's a couple of back to back pull-offs, or at least that is what finally worked for me!
