What a legend. I frequently re-read my old WDs and always wonder where the guys that featured, ended up. Great to hear he's still heavily involved in the hobby and Fred, if you read this, thanks for all the inspiration. Must be a nice feeling to not only know you inspired so many people all those years ago, but decades later, they can still remember your work so clearly.

This is excellent. Do you know how to get the blue-grey effect that the battle bunkers always had in White Dwarfs back in the 90s? I’ve tried to get the colour myself but it always looks too blue or too grey to my eyes. I can never get it right.

Played in a Mighty Empires campaign, modified for 8e, a couple years ago. I played my wood elves. I was bordered next to a mates beastmen horde and did poorly against him, a couple lacklustre rolls on the events and scouting left me with not a lot of supplies or intel to work with meanwhile my mate had jackpotted with finding a city, extra supplies and getting a good look at what I had to work with. It all ended with my forest kingdoms extinction, fighting a desperate last stand with my Prince and faction leader reaping a bloody toll before he was dragged down to his death.
@JonnyWatsonGamingАй бұрын
Yeah I’m hearing more and more this would be the way the game went, a few bad rolls left you in the woods. Amazing you got to have a go tho. I’m gonna try the out of the box version some time soon 👍
@username12120Ай бұрын
@@JonnyWatsonGaming On paper rolling for events and such is great, but the reality is swingy and sucks. If you were to go through with a full on Might Empires WHF campaign I would suggest sitting down with it and whoever will GM it and sorting out how and when events will roll and what else should be a roll or not. It's a product of its time, after all, and in the Spirit of 90s oldhammer, adjust and modify it as you need too, just like Rick would encourage you to do.

Question..can you separate each of the models to put onto their own individual base? The spearmen look joined together. Could the base between them be cut to divide them into single models?
@JonnyWatsonGaming2 ай бұрын
From memory I think they are all one piece. You might be able to cut them apart but I think that would be very tricky. I believe however they do make them an individual figure as well if your search the website so may not have to do any cutting.

Thank you for this tutorial. I have not an artistic bone in my body. I've tried painting my Warmster minis in the past and critically fumbled. I have an entire Bretonnian army to be painted up, and the cost of commissioning has been between $550-$900 for 1000 pts worth. I think I will give it a go myself again with the techniques you have provided and hope for a better outcome than my previous attempt years ago.
