Thanks Miguel! I just bought a 2008 Toyota Corolla LE manual last week with 65,000 miles on it in the USA. I have a 1998 Volvo S 70 T5M that is a 5 sp as well. It has no clutch switch. One huge advantage of this is, if your car ever stalls out in water going say over a flooded road. You can literally put the car in 1st gear, and bump the starter for three sec intervals. The starter motor will crawl you ahead with each bump of the ignition. When you get to the other side, you can start it up and take off. Try that with an automatic! A la gran puta! jajajaja!

jajaja You got it! In a situation like the one you just described, having a manual transmission with no clutch switch (or bypassed switch) could even save your life! or at least it can put you in a much easier to handle situation. I really liked your comment, we never know when we could find ourselves in a situation like that!

@@migueljuarez6217 my 1998 Volvo S 70 has a clutch like that already. I can literally hit the key when it is in 1st with no foot on the brake. Not only will it jump forward, it will start running and keep going slowly down the street! So the downside of deleting the clutch switch, might be your car going through your garage wall if you forget to depress the clutch when you start it! lolo!

Clutch won't disengage - No safety switch on older cars came in handy when the clutch was stuck while engaged. Just put it 1st (Or reverse) and off you go. Then you can change gears by matching the engine revoutiuions to the gear & speed while putting just a little pressure on the gear shift until it pops in. That has come in handy a couple of times for me. My grandfather born on the farm in the 1890's was telling me about how his clutch wore out so he poured molasses on it and got it stuck. Then he could drive it. .

Hi, How can I install the disc brakes? can i install it in front too? Regards from mexico
@migueljuarez6217
@migueljuarez6217 2 жыл бұрын
Hola amigo, installing disc brakes in the rear is easy in this rim model as it already comes with the preparation (The rim has 6 screws that you simply unscrew, place the disc rotor and screw the screws again). And the bike frame already has the mounting area for the caliper too, so really all you need is to purchase: The disc rotor and the disc caliper, as well as a new larger brakes cable with its housing (you can't reuse the current one because it is not long enough to make it to the new brake caliper). Unfortunately on the front wheel, there is no preparation for mounting a disc rotor, and in order to do that, you would have to spend in a new hub with the preparation for mounting the disc rotor, plus someone would have to install it to the rim, and you would also need to purchase a mounting to the caliper on the suspension. It's quite expensive, but for the rear it's quite cheap and can be done with just a screwdriver and a wrench. Have fun amigo!

How long does the battery last when you ride with "high" mode ? Mine seems like it lasts around 30min, when it says 1 hour duration. Is this normal?
@migueljuarez6217
@migueljuarez6217 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, I sold this bike some months ago but I do remember it used to last for at least 35 minutes, and up to 2 hrs depending on mainly three things: How much air pressure I had on the tires (The more pressure, the better for more efficiency and this should never be underestimated), how flat the road I was going to take it was and how hard did I wanted to pedal (how much "assistance" I'd give to the motor/battery). I really would pedal hard most of the time so it'd give me the two hours, but when I was rather lazy, I couldn't get more than 25 - 35 minutes. Make sure you inflate the tires as much as you can without making your ride uncomfortable or unsafe, and that alone can make a noticeable difference

Hey Jacob, for the year I had it I would definitely say it exceeded my expectations. The battery was still lasting like the first day; I didn't notice a detriment in the performance neither a noise in the motor. Things that were cheap, fell apart and I had to replace are the breaks and also a bearing from the rear wheel (it uses one bearing for each side; nothing complicated or expensive but really different from a normal bike) as it was starting to make a grinding noise which completely disappear with the new bearing. I think it happened because I abused the bike a little bit in the mountains. But honestly for the cost of the bike, I was so pleased and would recommend it to anyone

Pedal assist is what these small systems are designed for. The high setting is already too fast to keep up with so the battery drains fairly fast. Bypassing the controller's limit would only make it drain faster. You would need to buy a few more batteries in order to enjoy the bike. It is only a 36v system after all. There is no reasonably affordable way to upgrade this bikes drive train, and the trade off would be insignificant compared to the cost of a more powerful controller, unless you also upgrade the 36v battery and perhaps the motor. You would be better off to just buy a new, more powerful bike, and sell the old one.

it is really not water proof; the case where the battery sits does not have a good seal so I'm sure water would get in there and would damage the controller and the battery. It can be ridden if the rain has stopped and the street is wet, but the stock tires are rather slippery as the plastic they are made from is not from a good quality. But if you got a rack pack or backpack you wish to use. you can easily carry a extra or two. Or you could order on amazon or so a kind of water-bottle designed battery that fits into a standard waterbottle cage and use that with a bell velco strap around the top frame tube and hang it just above the internal battery for double power without having to haul it on your person, or put into a cargo bag. From what i heard of someone who has gotten a extra battery of the hyper, it's 200$ for the battery pack. Hey va muy bien! Yo también creo que subiré el manillar y cambiar el sillín. Cómo hiciste para darle altura al manillar? Hey it's going great! I also believe that I will raise the handlebars and change the saddle. How did you make the height of the handlebars?

Hey Ramon! raising the handlebar is easy! Just get one adjustable Stem at your local bike shop, or you may order one at Amazon like the one on this link: www.amazon.com/Wake-Adjustable-Mountain-Handlebar-Lightweight/dp/B07BFPKMCY/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=large+bike+stem&qid=1566869693&s=gateway&sr=8-4 Hola Ramon! Levantar el manillar es sencillo! Y te recomiendo que de una vez puedas comprar un manubrio mas largo, tambien le hace un gran cambio a la bici! Y el cambio de asiento es super super importante, el que viene de fabrica es muy duro. Saludos!

Gracias por el video. Justo me pasa igual. Le pondré un poco de aislante. Tengo un problema y una duda. El problema es que quisiera subir el manubrio o manillar y creo que no se puede, y la duda es que no estoy seguro si se puede conducir bajo la lluvia. Thanks for the video. Just the same happens to me. I will put some insulation. I have a problem and a doubt. The problem is that I would like to raise the handlebar or handlebars and I think it cannot be done, and the doubt is that I am not sure if you can drive in the rain?

Hola Ramon! Oh actually I raised the handlebar and placed a larger one as well. That is possible, you just have to replace the steam and the handlebar too if you want a longer one. It was one of the best upgrades I recently did to the bike. And I really wouldn't ride it on the rain, thou it seems pretty well isolated. I wouldn't like to take any chance for any electric part or the electric motor to catch humidity and go bad. a light rain wouldn't hurt I'm sure. Let me try to upload a new video today with all the upgrades I've done. It looks and feels quite much better after them

Thank you for posting this video. I have this bike and I have the same problem. I thought it was the shocks at first. Then I figured it was the battery itself rattling around because I put a zip tie on the battery and the noise stopped. The zip tie is a major inconvenience when it comes to taking the battery off the bike to charge though.

Hey there, you know what, I had the same issue as well and found a great convenient way to stop it. Just add a thin piece of foamy (like the one used for hand crafts) between the battery and the upper part of the frame (Opposite to the part where the battery and bike connector are). It works great and completely stops the noise. Only inconvenient is to make sure you don't miss the foamy part when you remove the battery. Not a biggie, if you miss it you can use another one. Hope it helps!

@@migueljuarez6217 you can always get some foam that has tape on one side, so you can stick that up on the plastic housing that covers the ESC door. Just don't block the top two screws and your good. Did this with some left over foam i had from some window foam from a Window AC unit. Works well.

Hey Aldo, I'm really liking it alot! I've made several upgrades to it, like larger handlebar higher steam, seat post with suspension, rear disc brake, etc. I'm really pleased with it and it's still working nice and smooth. Definitely recommended for the price!

@@aldojr5552 Cool, hope you enjoy it! Do get a new softer seat as soon as you can, the one that comes with the bike is hard as wood. Have fun! Lemme know how you like it

I'm planning on getting this with studded tires to use in the snow? Do you think it's possible?

Just what I was looking for but you blocked the actual location of the plug from the camera. I do have a better idea of what to look for in my Camry. I plan to spray the button (if my car has one) with WD-40 before doing the bypass. I may also attempt to remove, clean, apply dielectric grease and re-assemble if feasible. Anyway thanks for the info.

Didn't have this prob on mine. But good idea on the foam. I'd put it on the top/bottom, then before mounting the plastic battery door back on, put some on the back side. Will make it stop rattling. And yea that's the ESC. (Electric speed controller.)
