There are plenty of other videos out there much more professionally made than mine, so people searching for information to help them cope with similar health issues can find what they need very easily. I am hoping I won't need to make many more videos anyway now as I am hoping my health issues are largely resolved now.

Good to see an update from you! I hope all of your biopsies return as normal and cancer free. I needed to learn how to advocate for myself and not only regarding health issues. Assertiveness should not be thought of as being aggressive. I had basal cell carcinoma removed using MOHS surgery in 1988, which removed part of my nose and right cheek. I had 54 stitches in my face. After about a year, I had three reconstructive surgeries with a period between procedures of about three months.The reconstruction could not be done shortly after surgery because it was necessary to allow healing to take place and to see how the surgery site settled itself. I had two skin grafts (from ear and elbow). I not only got my nose back, but over the years no one knew I had surgery and reconstruction unless I was the one who told them. All of my nerves regenerated themselves except for a very small area on my lip. People should be aware that although usually not fatal, basal cell carcinoma can grow quickly from the point where it began. The cancer appeared as a small spot alongside my right nostril which itched, bled and then seemed to heal. only to have symptoms return again Had I put off the surgery, I likely would have had to have my sinuses rebuilt from the damage that the basal cell would have caused if left untreated.

Oh my goodness Jean. What a terrible ordeal for you. I'm glad you have had all the treatment but you have been through so much and this is a lesson for us all to hear your story. Hopefully others will see this and make sure they heed the warnings and don't ignore suspicious blemishes. Thank you for sharing your story and I hope you have no further issues.

I had a malignant melanoma on my leg about 20 years ago but it was caught early and so far, hasn’t returned. I just had another melanoma on my abdomen excised and had my sutures removed 3 days ago, that was caught early. They can reoccur 25 years later so we should have a lifetime of body checks. I was told to return for a checkup in three months. I’m happy you had good news too Bill, especially after all you’ve been through. Take care and God bless you and your family.

Hi Bill, that is wonderful news! After the first mole was found to be malignant, they went back and took out a larger area around it. Was that larger margin area biopsied as well? Apologies if you have already answered that. It is always so great to see you!!
