With my homemade projects, I always use spray varnish. And if I don't have the semi-gloss (or satin), I spray a coat of glossy and then, when it has dried completely, I spray a thin coat of matte varnish. It keeps everything much more liquid resistant.

@@rollingwiththebeard Well, it's a subjective matter... For my needs, the results are great! But it is up to many factors: how thick is the coat of varnish applied, the brand and quality of both the varnish and the original card, tiles or tokens... I prefer the semi-glossy or satin spray varnish, but I sometimes can't find it. So, matte over glossy it is. But always a very thin coat of matte just enough to diminish the glow... It is all trial and error...

This is a really fair review. I almost didn’t get this because of all the negative reviews about the cards (valid criticism) but I love the game actually - you do get used to the iconography, its pretty fast to look up cards in the appendix - probably best with 2 or 3 though as you will have to pass the booklet around as you point out. Still, interesting fun game with tonnes of re-playability due to the dice and the high number of cards.

Also with the switch action, if you play more than the basic game, you can use it to copy the top action of someone else’s card and it makes that persons card go to their hybernation area. Update: you mentioned this later

I was under the impression that during the auction, the last player has to pay the value of the cards. For example, if there are 4 3-cost cards, the last player has to pay 12 stash. I was thinking that provided an incentive to aggressively bid to not be left last but maybe I’m wrong.

@@rollingwiththebeard I was searching for clarifications on the rule and it turns out that the English version rulebook has an error. It is supposed to be 1 stash per card but the rulebook states paying the cards point value. Also, I found out that there is a production issue with the English version. Many people are missing cards or have received doubles. I ended up counting mine and I wasn’t affected by it, thankfully. Other than these issues, this is a GREAT game!

So thrilled this game has finally arrived in the US and especially at the price point, but man did they make some poor choices on the English printing's production value. I actually sold my Brazilian copy in preparation to get the English copy and I really regret that now. The Brazilian copy was still a bit under produced imo but farrrr better than the English copy.

Not sure this game is being played correctly. Doesn't look like you are adjusting the highlight track based on market value of cards. "For each icon that matches a track, advance your Player Marker on this track a number of spaces equal to the Market Value of the card that contains the icon."
