It can be difficult to gain access to the main COP29 Conference as it is attended by Governmental representatives & Non-Governmental Organisations with access to the Blue Zone. Members of the Public can, normally, attend within the Green Zone. Information on the access to this Zone. It's impossible for greenhouse gas behavior to cause global warming. Global warming was officially stated at 1.1°C in 1991 and 1.06°C in 2022. There is no mechanism that would allow greenhouse gas behavior to cause global warming. The back of the United Nation's IPCC science report states it took its greenhouse gas samples at 20,000 meters altitude where it is common high school level knowledge there is no greenhouse radiant energy. This is typical practice for deceptive marketing to state legal data transparency protecting the perpetrators from fraud prosecution. Earth's greenhouse effect is frequently used as a primary example to high school students of a system always in saturation from the strong greenhouse gas water vapor absorbing all the greenhouse radiant energy from the earth with greenhouse gases within 20 meters of the surface that is all around us everyday and can't have its overall effect changed. There is no further greenhouse radiant energy to interact with greenhouse gases. At 1% average tropospheric water vapor over 99% of earth’s greenhouse effect is from water vapor. Water vapor would hold earth's greenhouse effect in saturation if it were the only greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. Arctic warming is taking place with the proving mechanism being warm Atlantic Ocean waters migrating deeper and more frequently into the Arctic Ocean warming it and the region. That warmer water is causing a few weeks less of reflective snow and ice coverage resulting in more solar heat gain to the Arctic region surface. Atmospheric CO2 levels of 1200 ppm about three times what they are today would greatly invigorate C3 plants the majority of plant life on earth greatly greening the planet. 0.4% of the atmosphere is CO2 and on average 1% is H20 water vapor. (1% H20)/(0.4% CO2) = 25. Water vapor is 25 times more present in the atmosphere on average than CO2. Water vapor has an CO2e of 18, 18 X 25 = 450 CO2e total for water vapor to 1 CO2e for CO2. The Earth’s oceans have 3-1/2 million sea floor volcanic vents warming the water and changing it’s chemistry that have not been systematically accounted for.

Great video and I agree with the fact that documented information should be used is evidence of conformity. I'm liking the seven themes as they underpin and boost the current standard. What was a bit of a bolt on was the 2024 amendment but pretty easy to address with Clients. What does need to be clear is the competency required for the new standard. CBs jump on pumping out expensive training, although for the 2015 version I didn't take up any since as soon as the DIS came out, I started migrating Clients towards the probably new standard. I had a competency interview with UKAS for a CB's approval to deliver ISO 14001 as their lead auditor and UKAS accepted my detailed CPD records in which I documented my learning activities to make me able to deliver the "new" standard. What makes me smile is they always have their meeting somewhere nice. It's never at a business park off the M62.

Glad the video hit the right spot - It would be good for more ISO 14001 users to catch-up on the new changes, which this time around are more evolutionary rather than revolutionary. I agree that competency is key. For full transparency, I was an UKAS Assessment Manager for nearly ten years and continue to work with Accreditation Bodies. ISO/IEC 17021-2 on competency for EMS Auditors and other CB personnel was my baby as an ISO Co-Convenor. More to come on the second amendment to ISO 14001:2015…

one other consideration might be weight. Tesla Model Y weighs over 2 tonnes, much heavier than your meriva. Aside from the additional impact to the road, if you break down or have a puncture, you may find it hard to get a rescue truck to pick you up. I know from a colleague they had just this issue and the tow truck could only lift up to 2.5 tonnes and only just managed to pick him up.

Please how do you really think we can solve this plastics problem? It’s all very well for wealthy countries like America to achieve the Earth Day vision. For obvious reasons you did not mention sub Saharan Africa as signed up even though we constitute a huge portion of the Earth, and our large population use a lot of plastics. Most of our imported goods come in plastic wrapping. Plastic has replaced metal tins in a lot of previously tinned foods coming from Earth Day supporters - Europe, America and China. All toiletries and cosmetics come in plastic bottles. 99% of drinking water and sodas come in plastic bottles. Paper and cardboard require the felling of trees to be produced - so that could cause desertification. Firstly the countries signing up to Earth Day must show sincerity and stop exporting their goods to us in plastic packaging. Technologically advanced countries must find practical alternatives especially for solving this problem in countries with poor economies.
@EMSmastery
@EMSmastery 4 ай бұрын
Agreed - There is much that countries, such as America, can do to reduce their plastic waste but, also, their influence on wider supply chains. It is lamentable that, in a move to reduce the weight and, hence, carbon emissions in transportation, plastic containers have replaced glass and metal cans. With the latter being have a greater ability for recycling. Your final two points are well taken: To stop exporting their plastic packaged goods & for technologically advanced countries to find practical alternatives especially for solving this problem in other countries.

The UK GHG Conversion factors address this issue and provides some useful advice in the "Introduction" tab, which for the 2022 version states: "You should use the version of the factors that correlates with the data on which you are reporting (for example, factors labelled as 2021 should be used for data from calendar year 2021). If you are reporting on an April to March year, the factors from the calendar year in which the greatest portion of your data falls should be applied (for example, the 2021 factors should be applied to data in reporting year 01/04/21 - 31/03/22, the 2020 factors should have been applied to data in reporting year 01/04/20 - 31/03/21). Your statement of "Care should be taken" when using non-UKAS accredited "bodies" is spot on. I've come across some organisations who have gone down this route and the "management system" isn't worth the few bits of paper it's written on. With me it's UKAS accredited or nothing. If they can't afford UKAS certification, they may as well self-verify their compliance or even change the scope to a "Management of" rather than "provision of" to reduce the CB days and obviously cost. As someone who does subcontract ISO 14001 audits for a CB but mainly works as a consultant, Iv'e seen both sides of the table and I do find UKAS brings value and oversight to whatever standard you are being certified to.

Thank you for the breakdown what ARE greenhouse gases. Now someone please explain to me the math of it. Let's focus on CO2 first, which there is the most of. My problem is prior to industrial revolution there was more trees. Trees need sun and co2 to produce oxygen. Obviously no one was dying from lack of oxygen prior to mass producing of co2, and somehow planet stayed at about the same temperature? But currently the claim is that current emissions are something like 40 billion tons of CO2 a year. Which would require something like 800 Billion trees to absorb it a year. But according to estimates there is something like 3 TRILLIONS of JUST trees, then there is grass, brushes, oceans, probably other things that absorb all that pollution so what does that mean? Is Oxygen overproduced now? I seem to breath ok? Something is wacky with the math. I'm sorry, I'm being skeptical, but I vividly remember the same anonymous "scientist" were predicting 2nd Ice age coming within my life time just 40 years ago. I just don't get it.

Idiocy of this post is beyond the repair. Greenhouse gas? Doesn't it actually help to grove the plants? Isn't it necessary for photosynthesis? And what nonsense is that CO2 lunacy. CO2 is one molecule of Carbon and two molecules of Oxygen. Very dangerous if you take to account that all life on Earth is Carbon based and we need Oxygen to breeze. There is 0.04% of CO2 in an atmosphere, 0.02% is minimum to keep Earth alive. There is no such thing like dangerous CO2! Period!

Thank you for your feedback. The video is designed to explain what 1 tonne of Carbon Dioxide would look like to & to visualise it in daily situations. Your comment expands upon the wider issues not covered in my video, namely, the benefits and disbenefits of CO2 in the earth's atmosphere. The minimum amount of CO2 to sustain plant growth is 150 ppm with the current atmosphere levels at 425 (8 February 2024). At the elevated levels of CO2, largely, generated by humans (e.g. use of fossil fuels in power plants, flight and transportation), the Carbon Dioxide (and other Greenhouse Gases) are having more than the beneficial effects on plant growth, they are having negative impacts affecting our weather cycles impacting on food crops, extreme weather events experience across the globe & jeopardising the safety of small island states.
