No new vid updates yet but as far as the tank goes I have zero regrets. It has been a great tank. Not a single issue has come up. The only thing I'd probably change if I was them is change to black silicone.

@d2mini6 ай бұрын
I used the flexible hose that came with it for the drain plumbing. For the return to the tank I hard plumbed it but transitioned to flexible tubing right before the tank.
@timjohnson391311 ай бұрын
This is like a year late and you probably know by now, but those back two media baskets need to be rotated 90 degrees so the water can freely through from top to bottom and down under the legs. Otherwise the legs block some of the flow.
@d2mini11 ай бұрын
@timjohnson3913 Thanks for the comment! I don't even recall if I had rotated those or not but I haven't used them at all for at least 6-9 months. I had some Marine Pure spheres in there and they seemed to be leaching aluminum so I pulled them out and havent had the trays in at all ever since. Just a couple weeks ago I put in some cheato and the Tunze Eco Chic refugium light, turning that space into a refugium.

Now that you have had this tank for a while would you say it was worth the price? Im debating between this model and the waterbox 60.2 which is only $1300. The Cade just seems so well designed. But thats $1500 that could be spent in other equipment/livestock. Tough choice! It is so beautiful, I love the dimensions.
@d2mini Жыл бұрын
I've owned a large waterbox before and they make nice tanks. But the Cade is a step up in several areas. First of all, it's almost double the water volume... 36g vs 57g display. Second, the metal and glass stand of the Cade is very cool and beefier than the waterbox. Third, the Cade has a nicer designed overflow that doesn't take up interior volume, the ATO design doesn't take away from sump volume. And 4, it comes pre-plumbed with a manifold, and it has the integrated dj strip and equipment panel on the right side. Comes with a screen top too, to get you by for a while. Just your standard DIY type screen. So yeah, I think it's worth it. But without having owned a Cade before, if Waterbox had a tank that was more this dimensions, I probably would have went with them. But they are not interested in making larger cube tanks, which is what led me to Cade.

Nice looking tank but it's such a shame such expensive aquariums sump's still aren't adapted so you can easily remove filter stocks to replace with a fleece filter, it's such an obvious thing to do.
@d2mini Жыл бұрын
True. But at least with the glass sump, all you have to do is cut through the silicone to remove the sock holder. Lots of people have dropped in fleece filters in these.
@smeshfactory3992 Жыл бұрын
@@d2mini I understand but given how long fleece filters have been available there's NO reason these tank manufacturers cannot make the sock filtration compartment easily removable without having to go around cutting silicon. A tank manufacturer called D-D in the UK offers their sumps with a Clari-Sea or filter sock option.

It's a glass sump so yeah, you'd just have to cut the silicone holding that piece in. Cade knows that one sump won't fit everybody so they designed it this way and there are a few filter rollers that will fit. I think the Clarisea Gen3 is pretty popular.

I know that this is old but is that a Lifereef skimmer? And if so do you still use it, why/why not?
@d2mini3 жыл бұрын
I've run several LR skimmers. They take up more space and require more power compared to their needle wheel competition but they just work with little fuss. Easy to dial in because there is only one adjustment. And LR skimmers do not suffer from clogging of the venturi because the venturi is kept moist by pulling in humid air from the collection cup. It's a great design. Set and forget. The only flaw IME is that if something causes the skimmer to go haywire (something in your water or maybe you had a plumbing issues that caused the sump water level to go too high) and the skimmer cup overflows, it will take a day or so for it to get back to normal. I usually just leave it off for a day. I'm assuming the venturi gets too wet or something since the water in the cup has been passing through it. Just a minor inconvenience. Worth it considering how stable/consistent the skimmer is during normal operation.

Awesome review man. Thanks. It was difficult to find this info. How’s the tank? You think I could install the bracket without removing the tank? Someone holding the vertical bar and than slide it in the screws as supplied (I like your spacer idea) .... just haven’t received the bracket yet as it has to be sent to Japan. So I’m hoping I don’t need to empty the tank etc.
