Such a great video man. Learned so much. My only question. Can i run just the swirl pot set up you show? ( aluminum one with the pump ) . Can i use that to fuel my 1.8t mk1? Or should i run it how you ran it. Kinda got confused a little.
@SuperRonКүн бұрын
You need to have a pump to fill up the swirl pot. On a caddy I had to add the external one shown, on a mk1 you can use a gti internal lift pump to fill it. Or the external one like I've shown. Thanks for watching 😁
@SimplicityFabКүн бұрын
@@SuperRon thanks for the fast reply man! So i can use factory lift pump to fill the one aluminum one you showed in the video! Nice thank you!
@SuperRonКүн бұрын
@@SimplicityFab yes, but they never put a lift pump in a caddy tank, hence why I've had to go the external route. I've used this exact setup on a mk2 using the factory lift pump.
@SimplicityFabКүн бұрын
@@SuperRon awesome thanks. I was wondering how to keep the leveler too for the oem cluster. Ill get a oem lift pump but use aftermarket pump and swirl pot for under the car..

Yes most should be the same, sometimes some variation on pins and wire colours depending on donors, but the procedure is the same

indicator switch for park light, a smack to get left side working ? I this was my build I would not be happy. Its all good I guess. Thanks for time out documenting this. I absolutely love it. especially the wiring part. I would just like your opinion. with regard to ecu's. if one is doing this conversion does it matter whether you install a 150 or 225HP Ecu?
@SuperRon3 күн бұрын
The indicator was just a bit of corrosion in the bulb holder. Wiring wise they all wire in the same to wire in pretty much. There are some variants on 20vt's, cable throttle, vvt, wideband lambda, egt, but they can all be mapped to suit with supporting mods.

Just doing the exact same job. Super guide 👍 the only thing I see different to mine is the white connector is the clutch switch and the black is the brake switch. Not sure if yours is correct being from a different car or you accidentally whilst giving the dialogue reversed them. I'd hate for someone to connect brake and clutch wrong or cut off the brake wire thinking it's the clutch. 100% appreciate the video. Picking up loads of tips etc. Keep em coming 👍

Hi Super Ron, will the "taco box" work on my MK2 golf with an R32 engine. Please share brand, website and part number of the "Taco Box". im writing from South Africa! Thanks.
@SuperRon24 күн бұрын
The problem with the r32 is a 6cylinder going to the mk2s 4cylinder rev counter. So it will read 50% over rpm. Some people have used mk3 vr6 clocks aparently, but I haven't personally. The tacho box converter is made by vagtronics. They may have the 6 cylinder solution if you send them a message.
